New results require new inputs. However, it’s not just what you eat and how you move that will make the difference. It’s how you engage the process. Here’s what I know for sure. I’ve yet to meet a person who’s lost the weight and kept it off that didn’t also change how they saw themselves as well as what they considered normal and acceptable for their lives. The most often overlooked key to lasting results isn’t which eating or exercise plan is the best. It’s learning to perceive yourself as the type of person who has the results you want. You’ve probably heard the saying… When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at will change. Well, this also applies to the way we see ourselves. So, speak the part of the truth about you that is helpful. Take action to change the part that is not. Speak the changes you see. Keep going until what you see becomes the norm and what you want becomes reality.

Summer is on the horizon! We spent the day talking about what new habits we wanted to create. What did we want to do differently this year? The strawberries made a hella lot of babies last year. I put the starts in late, and they shared a little fruit, but mostly they bred and set down roots. I prod the little ones from the earth now and transplant them in rows, lovingly prepared. Last year, I planted strawberries as an afterthought. This year, I know how to better go about it. Isn’t that a marvelous thing? We learn the hard way once or twice (or twenty times), and eventually say, “Oh! Here’s how I can do it better.” Our better looks more orderly. I’d tried so many times to stop drinking , but I finally found the strength to stop, and exercise became an outlet for me. Exercise can help keep you focused on something other than drinking. Try an exercise class, join a gym, or go on a massive hike; just go for it. Real talk 👇🏽 Did I lie? 😳 I’ve been guilty of it too. And, still find myself guilty of it in non-weight related areas. I’ll admit. I want what I want AND I want to get it in the way that I want (within what I feel is reasonable anyhow). In some areas of my life, that tendency has been wildly helpful. I’ve found unconventional ways to reach my goals because of it. However, frustration is a sign of rigidity. So, if you’re feeling frustrated with your weight loss process, ask yourself… Where do I have room to dial things in? What am I willing to do differently or more consistently? Am I at my capacity for how much I’m willing to do? If you don’t know the answer to the first question, get help. If you know the answer, proceed to the second question. If you know the answer to the second question, get busy (and maybe accountability too). If the answer to the last question is yes, let go of the goal. Either way, frustration is a sign of a mismatch between expectations and reality. You can align the two by changing your actions or changing your expectations. Happy Friday!

Are you someone who is in CONTROL of their emotions or do you let your emotions control you? Do you allow yourself to FEEL them or do you BURY them? . New research (https://psycnet.apa.org/doi/10.1037/emo0001159) is showing that EXPRESSING your feelings instead of BURYING them maximizes your emotional well-being. If you allow yourself to accept things as they are, you not only experience less stress, but you’re also less likely to be pulled down by hard times. Example: If you’re frustrated about something, allow yourself to be frustrated, understand why you are, and ASK YOURSELF what can you do to handle it differently and let the emotion go. Why does this work? By FEELING the emotion and looking inward to understand why you’re feeling that way, what you can do while you feel the emotion to have power of it, and RELEASE it is you’re not being weighing down by it. . If you bury these emotions and decide not to feel them, they not only weigh you down but they also build up. And this build up can cause you to react not appropriately to situations that can cause not only more emotions but also a lot more stress. Feeling the emotions and letting them go lets you be FREE from them, which naturally allows you to be HAPPIER and have LESS stress. . The trick is to not avoid situations that can make you feel frustrated or angry but instead learn more about yourself in why you feel that way, and learning how to deal with your emotions in a healthier way (journaling, exercising, grounding, deep breaths, etc). Spring morning routine and rituals.🌱💚 Spring is the perfect time to freshen up your morning routine. A good morning routine is so underrated. For me I need quiet for the first 10 minutes of my day, allowing my brain to slowly come around before the noise of outside comes in. The perfect routine can set your day up full of energy, positivity, and productivity. After all, every morning we wake up is a chance to do better than yesterday. Newness... I've been starting my day with a cup of fresh fennel tea to support digestion and hydration. On days when it isn't raining, I've taken my drink outside to get my morning spring daylight first thing supporting my circadian rhythm. Forming a mindful ritual that allows me to connect with nature and the season as it unfolds. I then do a quick morning page practice, getting everything out of my brain on to paper. Finishing with a ritual of writing 3 things that I am grateful for that day. I love to incorporate what I most love about spring. I then read a few pages of a nourishing thought-provoking book, I am especially enjoying @briannawiest “The Pivot Year”. 💭I adore this quote by John O'Donohue "When one flower blooms, spring awakens everywhere." By creating rituals, routines, and habits that create and sustain healthy living, you can help to set yourself up to be the best version of yourself for spring and beyond. Mici sau mari, pe termen lung sau scurt, cruciale sau de menținere - asta mai puțin contează, deoarece mecanismele sunt cam aceleași. Dar scârțâie cam la toți 😊😉. Și la mine! ☺🤭 Am o istorie interesantă cu realizarea scopurilor. Ca toți copiii crescuți în era notelor și implicit a "dopaminei date peste cap". Dar perseverez și corectez zilnic ceea ce se poate. (Și mereu avem ce. Si mereu "se poate" 😉) Scopuri am întotdeauna. Câteva. Sunt vitale, la propriu, pentru mine. Pe cele mai importante le acroșez în fața ochilor la birou, le scriu prin agende, le gravez cu buchii de-o șchioapă pe suflet. Mare bucurie (intelectuală) pentru mine a fost sesiunea organizată de @cognitrom.ro. Dl profesor Mircea Miclea, ca de obicei, cu repere clare și argumentări științifice - motive în plus să-mi "chinui" clienții cu noi teme pentru acasă 🤣😉! Și ca de obicei, am început cu mine! Începând de azi, aplic tot ce am aflat nou miercuri, timp de o lună (o perioadă de "probă" ✌) ca să pot însoți pe alții cât mai convingător, blând și cu precizie pentru atingerea scopurilor. Tapi untuk kebiasaan membaca, yuk coba pakai 30 hari. Seperti umat muslim yang disyariatkan puasa selama bulan Ramadhan agar menjadi insan betaqwa. Intinya konsisten. Dari 24 jam, luangkan 5-10 menit membacakan anak buku setiap hari selama sebulan semoga menjadi kebiasaan selanjutnya. Kapan dilakukan? Bisa sambil menemani anak bermain atau sebelum tidur. New research (https://psycnet.apa.org/doi/10.1037/emo0001159) is showing that EXPRESSING your feelings instead of BURYING them maximizes your emotional well-being. If you allow yourself to accept things as they are, you not only experience less stress, but you’re also less likely to be pulled down by hard times. Example: If you’re frustrated about something, allow yourself to be frustrated, understand why you are, and ASK YOURSELF what can you do to handle it differently and let the emotion go. Why does this work? By FEELING the emotion and looking inward to understand why you’re feeling that way, what you can do while you feel the emotion to have power of it, and RELEASE it is you’re not being weighing down by it. . If you bury these emotions and decide not to feel them, they not only weigh you down but they also build up. And this build up can cause you to react not appropriately to situations that can cause not only more emotions but also a lot more stress. Feeling the emotions and letting them go lets you be FREE from them, which naturally allows you to be HAPPIER and have LESS stress. . My writing is on a bit of a hold (equipment probs), but I have made the decision to move forward with sharing my art and photography prints without a pseudo name...as scary as that feels. What are you willing to change in your daily routine?💭 What do you do every day knowing it harms you? In my case, I can think of several things: 🧁Eating sweets when I’m anxious. 💪Skipping exercise out of laziness. 💭Not setting boundaries with certain people out of fear of the consequences. 💕 Not giving myself space when I feel like everything else is more important than prioritizing myself. But definitely, if we want positive changes in our lives, we have to stop doing certain things that aren’t good for us and adopt others that can bring us closer to the lifestyle we want. In my case, Finding a fun way to exercise that motivates me, like dancing.💃 Being aware of my moments of anxiety to avoid soothing that feeling with desserts or food.😊 Having a weekly date with myself to disconnect and reconnect.☕️ Surrounding myself only with people who add value to my life.👯👯 So my question today is, what are you willing to let go of... Perhaps your internal criticism and the ugly words you sometimes speak to yourself? Perhaps the little time you sometimes dedicate to yourself and what you don’t take care of? habits that have made a difference lately → ✨Morning walks/walks throughout the day - it has always been a great stress reliever for me. It’s a great start to my day, and it clears my head throughout the day. ✨Self-care nights - I’ve been more intentional with my self-care nights lately, trying different activities to mix things up. Latest one was making Nutella pizzas which were delicious! ✨Watching some comedy - Some days, when I’ve had a stressful day, I watch some comedy like Friends or lately, Family Feud. ✨Having a social life - I’ll admit that this can get neglected when times are busy. But having one does make life more sweeter. ✨Different environments while working - with the amount of work and studies I’ve been doing, staying in one place can get demotivating. Switching up the environments keep me motivated. ✨Solo Dates - No matter how busy I get, I aim for one solo date a week. I do an activity that I have fun and get to be in my own company. ✨Taking things day by day - Again, life has been stressful lately and I get too anxious about the future. Taking things day by day helps me not stress out too much (still a work in progress) These are just some small steps I would take.
