Day 71 of #the100DayProject2024 The first of my next batch of ten, so I'm back to experimenting with printing again 😁 I follow a fabulous blog by Emily Harvey, aka @thecuriousprintmaker, and one of her many ideas I've been wanting to follow up was a simple collograph plate made with aluminium tape! I found a maple leaf in my stash of dried foliage, small enough to fit the width of the tape, and stuck it down to a backing card. I made a little shorty pair of the @purlsoho Smarty Pant, and I made them double thick! . Both of these pairs were knit with the leftovers from other projects . Merino doesn’t make for the best diaper covers on its own, so I knit the waistband with a little picot in the @knittingforolive merino I was planning to use for the outside then knit the body with @topsyfarms wool until the leg split. I picked up at the waistband in the merino again and knit the body another time before joining the live stitches of the leg holes together and knitting tiny little legs, ribbing, and a tubular bind off! . 🗑️April Empties🗑️ Man - I have been on a roll lately with empties this year! I have 8 empties to share this month, with 3 lip empties - 2 mini @lawless forget the filler lip glosses in rosy outlook and nudie, which unfortunately irritated the sides of my mouth a bit after using them several days in a row, but if I alternated days, then they were beautiful (4/5⭐️) and then the @milanicosmetics fruit fetish lip oil in strawberry fetish honestly reminded me of some type of candy from my childhood - I just wanted to eat it lol 😅- but I loved the nourishing, glossy, non-sticky finish (5/5⭐️) I also finished 2 blush samples this month - the @lauramercier tinted moisturizer blush in provence was so sheer that I literally don’t think it could be called a blush. I have fair skin, and it barely showed up on me, and where it did, it was patchy. (0/5⭐️) And then unfortunately, the @freck cheek slime was the opposite problem - it had SO MUCH PIGMENT and not enough base to blend into my cheeks that it felt like I was spreading literal slime. It ended up being okay mixed with a liquid highlighter, so I was able to make it work, but it was way too thick for me (1/5⭐️) I know the @elfcosmetics putty primers went viral when they first launched several years ago, but I’m beginning to lose my interest in silicone/blurring primers - I feel like they make my face a slip-n-slide rather than prolonging my makeup throughout the day. I think in terms of blurring, I would much rather have a setting powder than a primer (2/5⭐️) Speaking of viral - I finally tried the @lorealparis telescopic mascara, and y’all - it is THAT GOOD 👏 My lashes were so fluffy and full, not clumpy or smudgy at all! I will say I do get a bit of flaking if I got any product in my waterline, but other than that it was beautiful (5/5⭐️) And lastly, I finished the @maybelline 24H superstay skin tint and besides the fact that it is more of a full coverage foundation than a skin tint, it is STUNNING. I've been hiding an empty again... ✨️ And it's been a long time coming too 😂 I used up the contour shade in this face contouring set from Trend It Up! I bought it in 2016 or 2017, I believe, solely for the contour shade as there haven't been a ton of cool toned options in the drugstore for pale skin. It was during the time when crazy facesculpting was trendy thinking it would magically change the structure of my very round face. Lil old me did not understand that it's very hard to chisel a face that is shaped like the moon lol. I mostly used this on my doublechin after I fell in love with bronzer and the way warm tones looked on my face. I hit pan that way and even repressed it only to neglect it for quite some time 🫣 until it was time for my Choso cosplay where I needed all the cool tones I could possibly get and used this product more frequently again. Now that it's finished, I will declutter the rest of the face palette since I never reached for those tones in the first place ✨️ Did you buy a palette for just one shade? A #project10uses update - I finally hit my goal on the Oden's Eye Lip Stain 😭 my roll-in, the Oden's Eye Solmane Eyeliner in 006 Green Tea, is on the next slide 🖤 I literally NEVER used this lip stain before rolling it into the project, since such a dark red in a glossy formula kinda intimidated me. Now that I've gotten 10 days of use out of it, I feel like I can form an opinion on it, and the deal is that this lip formula is not that scary. Despite being a gloss in a bold color, it has pretty good wear time, and I only needed to reapply it once or twice a day. It was sticky enough to not just come off of the lips and bleed onto the face, but not so sticky it was aggravating to wear. Weirdly enough, though, the Alva Cream Lipsticks stain the lips much more than these lip stains. When this came off, it came off evenly without leaving any pigment behind. I'd say this was more of a gloss than a stain of any kind. I'm not sure the product weight of these, but if only .3 g are used in 10 days of normal wear, that doesn't bode well for panning it 😅 My roll-in is an eyeliner that I've already used over 20 times. This is one of the creamier ones in this line, and I haven't experienced breakage with it. 🌿 The area on the right is our #DrainGarden! Sometimes neighborhood drains get clogged with fast-growing plants, causing flooding during storms. Before storms, we clear the drains. Last year, instead of removing the plants, we transplanted them to our yard to combat erosion. Check out the untouched area on the left—nothing would grow there! A card front I created using cardboard box for base, added collaged papers, sewed around edge with a light colored zigzag, but it didn't show up enough, then I went around again with a straight stitch in black. I drew the leaves with black Sharpie, and added gold sparkle to the top of them. Now I can add this to the top of a blank card and have one ready for a future occasion. PABLO - Toen ik de release van de pablo broek zag, was het liefde op het eerste gezicht. Het was een beetje nostalgie, naar de skate broeken die ik zelf vroeger altijd droeg. Met van die zakken aan de zijkant ;) (graag gedaan als je nu de rest van de dag dit liedje in je hoofd hebt ;)). Dus ik scoorde een heel mooi oranje/bruine soort jeans stof en ging er mee aan de slag voor mijn zoon. Ik ging voor de versie met alle zakken, en de lus. En ideaal met elastiek aan de bovenkant. Best een klus, alles netjes afwerken maar echt heel blij met het resultaat! Precies zoals ik in mijn hoofd had. Ik vind die schuine zakken voor ook zo leuk bedacht! Volgende keer zal ik nog een maatje (of 2) kleiner nemen voor de taille, en hem dan meer verlengen, maar er gaan er zeker meer van volgen! Zelda project pan update! I'm so behind on my updates I have 4 swaps 😅 and they're all a month old. But if you saw my life update a couple posts ago, I have been sick and not wearing makeup all month or posting anything so I'm just getting back into it now. I'm still working on a mascara and setting spray from before. All the eyeshadows were great, I'm trying to have some bright eyeshadows rolling through this project since my main project this year is battleship pans with a neutral palette. Here's the description of all of the prompts corresponding with my next picks (one of which I already finished and rolled out!): Hylian Shield - Pick an item that is dependable: Loading... coral eyeshadow is what I picked! It's basically my favorite eyeshadow shade, and I'm happy to use it in basically any look. Ancient bow - Pick one of your oldest items : This liquid balm is really old and it's basically a 'tinted lip oil' but I got it in 2018. I feel like it should probably be expired but I haven't had any issues with it yet. Here's hoping I don't start having issues during this project. Master sword - Pick your favorite item: I picked this lipstick that I'm pretty sure I've raved about enough, I've actually finished a whole one of these and repurchased it! It's a lovely brown-y peach shade, and on the desaturated side. Warm desaturated oranges and orange reds are probably the best lipstick shades for me in general. I already hit my goal on this one! Lizal boomerang - Pick an item you've repurchased at least once: I picked this peach corrector that I finished and repurchased once, though I've since realized yellow green is better for color correcting my undereye, and I just mix this shade with my own green concoction to bring it closer to a skintone shade. It's a great formula but unfortunately finding a light desaturated yellow green-leaning undereye concealer/corrector doesn't exist on the market in any formula so it's just me mixing up my own thing for now, ever since I figured it out. This one will be easy to hit goal on once I start wearing makeup again because I do undereye color correcting with basically every 'full eyeshadow' look.

Finished! My teacher-aide tragically lost her son last year. She gave me a small bag of his clothes and I made her a memorial quilt (more like a throw since it's not too big). I enjoyed seeing where I could work in details like shirt pickets and cuffs (swipe to see) I'm not an experience's quilter and I was surprised to see how easy it was to improv-quilt knits and wovens together. I didn't stabilize the Tshirt bits but it worked out fine. I used up almost every little piece of the clothes she gave me and backed it with a thrifted, but very thick and cozy flannel sheet. Day 70 of #the100DayProject2024 Ahh what a happy day! - I spent the morning at a workshop led by @chaos.and.curiosity.art, exploring natural pigments which Sharon had foraged along local shores. Rhea Bullos, an 11-year-old track athlete from the Philippines, went viral after competing in a local inter-school running meet. Bullos won three gold medals in the 400-meter, 800-meter, and 1,500-meter competitons. The girl went viral not only because she won but because she didn’t have running shoes and decided to use bandages as shoes. I always say and I will reiterate that at any point in your life, know that you have everything you need to succeed. The girl did not focus at what those who had shoes had, she focused on using what she had and has further opened many other opportunities. Many of us wouldn’t have participated for fear of what other runners or spectators were going to say about us and would have missed an opportunty that would have improved our lives and eventually bring other opportunities. #The100DayProject Days 57-60: Coiled object Sometimes you just have to call time on something that just isn't working out as hoped...I have been working on this coiled piece off and on for the past four days, and have taken it apart and started over at least that many times. I haven't been up to my studio for a few days, so I truly have been working with a very limited selection of cloth and thread, which makes things a bit more challenging. In any event, there always seems to be some use for studio remnants and now there is the potential for further exploration with an unconventional technique. Some takeaways from the past few days: 1. Committing to something until completion, and all the while reworking it a thousand times, strengthens one's ability to persevere. 2. Staying with something over time provides a good stretch for mental note taking to figure out what might be different next time, or if there will be a "next time." 3. Working with a new technique and using materials at hand in different ways can lead to some new inspiration.
