You can either gain weight, lose weight or stay the same BUT that’s not how you will determine your ideal weight 👉🏻Your ideal weight is the weight you are in when you actually eat enough, when you’ve worked on your body image so you’re not constantly miserable and trying to lose weight, when you work on your relationship with food and are able to stop binging and reduce your emotional eating! It’s perfectly fine to pursue the healthiest version of yourself, to eat in a way that makes you feel good, to move your body. It is not fine, however, to let anyone dictate to you that you have to weigh a certain amount to be valued. It is not okay for anyone to make you feel like you would be more worthy if you shed some pounds. It is not okay to live in a status of depravity and punishment. It is never okay to let anyone define you by a number on a scale. Ever. Not your boyfriend or husband or wife or girlfriend. Not your sister. Not your parents. Not your boss. Not that social media influencer. Not that stranger at the grocery store. Not that personal trainer. And most of all, not you. You are worthy and beautiful and deserving of living life to the fullest. You do not have to be a certain # on the scale to do that. You do not have to look a certain way to believe you are worthy of incredible things. So eat the cookie. Choose joy. Celebrate how your body moves and looks today, as it is. I asked the Internet this question and I got a preeeeetty clear answer… which mirrors the reason why I did this print in the first place. For context: Etsy does allow for ‚mature‘ (NSFW) content when it is tagged according to their guidelines. While nudity in itself is not considered mature by Etsy, „se*ually explicit“ content is. The exact terms are very vague and leave lots of room for speculation, which is why I, as a new seller, turned to the wisdom of an Etsy forum. Well… I got what I came for (and more). A pretty clear answer and what felt like some extra judgement on top. I had this suspicion, Etsy being an American platform with a large American market, but damn, I didn’t think people would be like this. However, besides some weird comments, I also got some nuanced help and support - grateful for that. The print is up in the shop now according to the guidelines (tagged and with the first image blurred) and whileI personally don’t think this would be necessary, I can’t say it doesn’t fill me with joy to push the envelope a bit 😈 ✨ And here’s my thoughts about this print: Bodies are bodies. There is nothing shameful about them. Nude bodies are not automatically se*ual in any way. However, and this is especially true for FLINTA bodies, they are charged with a long history of objectification, scandalization, and weaponized shame. A body is a body and that’s that. Learning to appreciate yours and other bodies for what they are is an act of rebellion. What are your thoughts?
