๐ @gonoesushi.donmills Star and I had lunch at Gonoe Sushi before heading to Edwardโs Garden ๐ แดสแด แดส: ๐ Katsu Don Donburi ($19.95) ๐ฑ Shrimp Tempura Lunch ($16.95) ๐ฃ Green Dragon Roll ($16.95 for 9 pcs) สแดแด ษชแดแดก: โญ๏ธ Katsu Don Donburi 7.5/10 - This Donburi was very filling! They gave a decent amount of chicken katsu underneath the egg omelette. The stirred veggies included a bit of broccoli, bell peppers, and a LOT of bean sprouts. I found that it was too much bean sprouts and instead it needed more katsu ๐ It was flavourful and sweet tho and the omelette was nicely cooked. โญ๏ธ Shrimp Tempura Bento 8/10 - One thing that really stood out to us was the shrimp tempura; the shrimp tastes like shrimp ๐คฉ๐ Most of the time shrimp tempuras are coated in a lot of flakey batter and with less meat but this restaurantโs shrimp tempura was different! Also, it came with japchae which is not that common in a bento. โญ๏ธ Green Dragon Roll 8/10 - A classic and delicious. The rice-to-filling ratio was good. It didnโt come with a lot of sauce drizzled on top so you can taste more of the ingredients and the avocados ๐ฅ The restaurant was busy on a Friday at 1pm but service was friendly. We loved the wooden aesthetics of this restaurant and the hanging plants and lanterns ๐ It felt like we were transported to Japan! We also got to sit in one of the private booths with the hanging curtains. They have a lot of options on their menu. The restaurant has a really nice ambience and bright lighting from the windows. โญ๏ธ Spaghetti Carbonara 7/10 - The pasta was cooked al dente and was good portion size. The sauce was not salty and it was balanced out with the pancetta. Wished it was creamier and had more sauce tho, it was dry ๐ฅน โญ๏ธ Penne Vodka 8/10 - Nice amount of sauce and good flavours. The pancetta was salty but the pasta balanced it out well. Definitely a tastier option than the carbonara. Service was a bit slow but there was a good amount of customers. The pastas werenโt outstanding, but for the portions, price, ambience and location they were a good deal. Iโd come back again when visiting High Park!

We visited the following food stalls: 1) The Fritter Co. - Ordered a dozen apple fritters. These were made fresh to order! They're rolled in cinnamon and sugar. It's a must-try here! 2) Chorizos La Abuela - Got the pulled pork tacos. I liked how flavourful the pork was. 3) Country Cravings - Their roast beef sandwich is quite hearty. It's filled with a ton of meat.

The noodles were nice and bouncy. It wouldโve been even better if there was more meat. I also found the soup to be more flavourful at the downtown location ๐ง โญ๏ธ Bulgogi Jungsik 8/10 - The bulgogi was perfectly seasoned, not too sweet nor salty! The portion was a good size but it needed more rice to go with it. The side dishes were flavourful. Appreciate their binchotan charcoal grilled selections and Southeast-Asian inspired flavours. The portions were generous and the dishes pair very well with their wine selections. On a gloomy day, a bowl of ramen is one of the dishes I would be going for! I like going to the CIBC Square, especially since I can manifest coming here in the summer and having lunch at their outdoor park. Trying out a @ramenmisoyacibc new item - Tokyo Shoyu Ramen. Very intense soy broth, which I like and great wok hay aroma from the stir-fried vegetables. In the bowl comes a generous slice of Chashu pork that is very rich and minced pork. The noodles have a nice bite and kind of remind me of a yakisoba noodle. Overall, it's a good bowl of ramen, a bit of pricey on my opinion. Then again, it's a featured ramen bowl. The Braised Beef Noodle Soup came with a lot of soup and a decent amount of toppings. The braised beef was nice and the soup was a little bit less spicy than expected. The House Noodles was a bowl of noodles in chili oil sauce and minced meat; it was delicious and had great flavours. Both dishes had a citrusy component to it which balanced nicely with the chili spices ๐ถ๏ธ โญ๏ธ Dumplings 7/10 - We were given the wrong order for the soup dumplings ๐ฅฒ Originally we ordered steamed pork dumplings with spicy sauce but we were given the curry one. I wasnโt a fan of the curry ๐ The filling was good portions but there was less soup than we expected ๐ฅฒ The mini pan fried soup dumplings were cute and bite-sized, and definitely had less soup in them. Overall, we enjoyed the meal. The noodles were our favourites! ๐ Sadly we had higher expectations for the dumplings ๐ฅฒ The restaurant was packed at noon on a Saturday and more customers kept coming in at 2pm! Can't egg-nore a pasta this good ๐ @frankiesyafrankies in @leslievillebia is a neighbourhood fave for Italian comfort food. Hubby took the mochi fam here and we stuffed ourselves silly with pizza and pasta. We started with the Burrata Special which happened to he roasted butternut squash with pomegranate seeds that day. The creaminess of the cheese paired with the charred sweet taste of the squash was legit good. We also tried the Deep Dish Po, which is like a mini deep dish pizza with vodka sauce, soppressata and fior-di-latte. It was a bit too rich for me but Lil Mochi loved it. Because my kid is a pizza fanatic, he also ate a pepperoni pizza which had a nice crispy crust; the fior-di-latte was a nice touch. Meanwhile, I have a weakness for carbonara - the Nduja Carbonara here is spicy but so creamy with that gorgeous yolk. Hubby got their Crabmeat Ravioli Special (not pictured) which was loaded with real crab and so delicious. This is a cozy spot for when your pasta cravings hit.
