eyond the Fog, 6x6 oil on birch panel. Today's miniature. This view is from the top of Mt. Battie, looking down on Curtis Island sitting just outside the harbor at Camden, Maine. I love the view from up there, in all seasons. We once climbed the back trail up Mt. Battie using snowshoes. It was quiet until we reached the top, where howling winds and blizzard conditions met us. This view that day was completely blocked with the storm. But my favorite views are on sunny summer days. It's never too crowded, and there is a birds-eye-view of the beautiful sea and harbor below. This day there was a drift of fog clearing off for the day. I loved the line of boats moored on the quiet side of the island, while out on the open sea a windjammer sailed regally by. The only thing better would have been to be on her deck, looking up at Mt.
