Was so empty, as most schools are back this week- absolutely no queues, walked straight onto every ride and did 15 rides until the kids wanted to go home and rest :) I did all the so-called lame rides where you don't go upside down and the brave kids did the adrenaline ones. It was on a grabone cheap deal and I'd definitely return, we had a blast!
I think my Instagram shows how much I love to travel with my little family. I love sunshine, new places, and time with my favourites. But I do not think that allowing every child to take 1-2 weeks off a year is okay. Don’t get me wrong, I see it from every perspective. I am a mum as well as a teacher. I’d love to go away in June or visit my brother in Australia in January. If parents want to take their children out of school and accept the consequences, that is completely up to them. But do I think we should give permission for every child to have 1-2 weeks off school a year (in addition to the 13/14 weeks a year already off)? Absolutely not. Schools are a learning environment, not a business. It’s not like people in businesses taking time off and being covered by someone else. It would open the flood gates for people to take time off here and there for no reason. It would not work and it would be abused. It would be incredibly disruptive and the system is already on its knees with teachers and support staff doing the best they can with the little they have. I made a post about this on the other app and it attracted a lot of comments. I think people misunderstood my message. If parents want to take their own children out and accept the consequences, then go ahead. But allowing every child to have 1-2 weeks off is not the answer. I also fully accept that people will have their own opinions and that is absolutely okay. We are not all supposed to agree with each other.
