3 whole weeks since my last post, and gosh what busy times it has been! Mums said a fond farewell to our house in Spain, after 22 months on the market! Luckily for me there was a last minute dash to the house to clear the furniture and I was reunited with the beanbag I claimed the very first day mums brought me home, almost 15 years ago! While there mum got some artisan lotions and potions from our very talented neighbour @sividal_cosmeticanatural . Made from local plants, it’s a beautiful reminder of the mountains we called home❤️ Bodger and mum had birthdays, mums have found the right combination of low protein foods that I like, and we had visits from favourite aunties ( one did a painting of the view from our garden!). And spring is definitely here - the neighbours have had a foal! Feelin’ cute, might delete later. 😝 I thought I’d break our sheep camp recap up into two posts! One about Wyldcard and one about Static. 😊 So started with little miss Wyld! I fully wasn’t expected her to work at all considering pressure made her nervous the previous week, but I said what the hell we will just see what she does. Well, she must have had a lightbulb moment or heard her ancestors telling her what she was made for because boy did she turn on!! We introduced baby dog stuff such as a way to teach her to find her balance. By the second day of balance exercises, she was thinking and looking for the right place! A common misconception in herding when it comes to balance is that people think it always has to be 12 o’clock (when I first wa starting out I thought this too). Sometime it is, sometimes it is 11-9 o’clock or 1-3 o’clock. The third day we let her work loose sheep and she was really into it! She moved them along calmly and slowly and even took some side changes! She seems to really prefer Come-By (clockwise) when circling, so for her to stop and change direction and go into Away-To-Me (counter-clockwise) circling was great! And on the final day, we tried her back in the round pen with loose sheep! She took pressure while circling and changed sides and even stopped motion and got her first lie down on sheep! I think she finally realized her calling in life! 🙌🏼 She left sheep camp super duper keen at 9 months old and was ready to show the sheep what she was made of! 💪🏼 Overall, she showed so much good stuff during sheep camp, I’m very excited to train her up. 💙

My beautiful girl had such a blast exploring with us! Of course in true Wyldcard fashion, she broke out of her stroller the first day. 🫠 RIP my money. She was a very good girl with passing other people and dogs, although she thought that everyone should show her some attention.
