What a lovely afternoon we had today @brechincastlecentre @brechincastlecountrypark today! The sun shone and we had loads to keep us very busy! We completed a knights obstacle course, went (grass) sledging, played crazy golf, had fun playing table tennis and loads more! Rising Sun Country Park, Benton Evening everyone. Tonight's post is a bit late as I've been distracted by the ball of light in the sky and lost track of time. The park is on our doorstep and we have only just got round to visiting, but can recommend a visit. Rising Sun Country Park is a hidden gem in Benton, spanning an impressive 400 acres. Once a bustling coal mining area, the park has undergone a huge transformation. Today, it boasts a number of habitats, including tranquil woodlands, lakes, lush meadows, and vibrant wetlands. This diversity attracts a wide variety of wildlife, transforming the park into a haven for birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts. Animals you might spot include rabbits, foxes and plenty of birds to twitch. On our visit this month, we spotted Blackcap, Chiffchaff and Willow Warbler bringing a lovely spring-time feel to the park. They didn't just cut down one of 'my' trees at Mugdock, they obliterated it ๐ข Out testing a new to me (cheap) travel zoom lens which I bought for Berlin.
