新年の走り初めはTOJ京都ステージ。 新ホイールを試すにはうってつけです。 まだ慣れていないのでおっかなびっくりですが、下りでの速度の上がりようは恐ろしいぐらいでした。まさに「落ちるが如く」という加速。ホイールからヒュー！という風を切る音が聞こえてきました。地面に吸い付くような感覚もありました。 登りもなんだか楽でした。スルスル登るというのがピッタリです。タイムは…あまり変わりませんでしたが…。 コーナリングも安定感があります。 タイムはいつもと同じぐらいだったのですが、いつもより心拍が上がりませんでした。息もそこまで上がらなかったので、ホイールの効果は絶大！たぶん…。 KOM(山岳賞)看板前でも撮り初め！ あとちょっとで帰宅というところで後輪が謎のエア抜け。これから原因を追究します。パンクだったら嫌だな〜。まだ2回しか走ってないタイヤなのに〜。 #ロードバイク #ロードバイク初心者 #ロードバイクのある風景 #ロードバイクのある生活 #ツアーオブジャパン京都ステージ #fujibikes #fujitransonic1point1 #eastonec90sl

We have been working on a bikepacking route from Breckenridge, Colorado to Grand Junction, Colorado since the COVID shutdown in 2020. Many parts of the route are standard roads. But, the section from Sunlight Ski Resort to a small ranch town (Collbran) is absolutely unknown. If you know Colorado, you know creating this route is a challenge at best. After numerous route development sessions and discussions, we could not find any precedence. Some told us it may not even be possible to cross from Sunlight to Collbran to Grand Mesa. Others told us it is very remote and rugged. So, a few weeks ago we decided to try our current version of the route including a train ride from Grand Junction to Glenwood Springs. Well, we did it!! 🚴♀️🚴💕 Yes, rugged, wild, and scenic!!! …and absolutely gorgeous!!! We had very little time for photos but we have included a few here. And, yes, Patch got stung by a bee on his lip. 🥴 If you are comfortable in a remote backcountry setting and everything that goes with it, we highly recommend this route. New Years 2022 One of the best New Years Eves in a long while. ⛷️ 🚴♀️🚴💕 We started the day with an uphill ski, followed by a FAT bike cafe date ride touring downtown Breckenridge. Our cafe was a visit to La Française Bistrot for good food, good wine and a good time. Afterwards, we rode up to the bottom of Peak 8 in the Breckenridge Ski Resort. We took some photos and hung out. Afterwards, we miss calculated our time and finished our FAT bike ride in close to darkness. La Saga SC LTD contaba con un cuadro hibrido construido en aluminio Easton Scandium GX2 con vainas traseras Easton EC90 Super Lite, lo que hacian de este cuadro una verdadera joya de 1500gr y con una capacidad de traccion y maniobrabilidad en curvas que aun hoy con sus mas de 10 años de antiguedad siguen sorprendiendo. Una bicicleta pensada para ganar y que en las versiones Team Maxxis y Team Zenith arrasaron en el mundo del XC , XCO, rural y cuanta competencia se les cruzara adelante. A town with a bar and a hill This past week we competed in the 2022 @bigskyspectaculaire bikepacking event in Montana as a pair. We checked off our gear list, loaded our bikes in the van, and drove to Bozeman, Montana for the pre-race meeting and bike inspection. @meaghanhackinen was there after her successful @thetranscontinental . We met @jimfolsom who impressively won the race along with the @bigskyspectaculaire race director and course creator Crowell, Mike Vermeulen, Josh Thornton, and @montanabikeodyssey . Crowell did an amazing job with the route and the race organization. We would absolutely recommend this race to others. The scenery plus the challenging course made this race very special and enjoyable. From hay fields to free-flowing streams to small towns with only a bar and a hill to high mountain passes, this route did not disappoint. The gravel is true gravel, sometimes chunky, other times deep, and other times there is a small track to follow. We got to see a mother grizzly bear and her cub. Fortunately, they scurried off. We tried to decide what our favorite section of the route was and we truly cannot pick just one. The roads are beautiful, the locals friendly, the route adventurous, it was an incredible way to experience Montana. Our rigs performed flawlessly (Thank you @neighborhood_bike ). We had to fill one tire with Stans and one bottle cage broke. Our @reneherse Snoqualmie Pass tires performed great from smooth tarmac to really chunky gravel. Maybe the best tires we have ever had. Our @hunt.beyond wheels were solid as usual. Our @apidura bags worked great as well. Our first bikepacking trip since surgery. It was an amazing route, with beautiful rolling hills to big climbs. Over Vail Pass and over Cottonwood Pass into Glenwood. When we arrived in Glenwood we discovered Glenwood Springs is in the middle of its biggest festival of the year; the Strawberry Days festival. We rode to camp, set up camp, and went to the Iron Mountain Hot Springs for the afternoon. The next day we planned to ride back through Glenwood Canyon but after riding around 4 miles in, we discovered the bike route was closed. So we turned around and rode back over Cottonwood Pass and Vail Pass back home.
