Did you know that Rattlesnake Canyon just outside of Grand Junction CO has the 2nd largest concentration of arches outside of Arches National Park in Utah, with 30 Arches within one mile? Super cool hike to the top of them. Next time, we will take the longer, lower trail and get views from the bottom!

The Colorado National Monument west of Grand Junction is a magnificent edifice of towering sandstone cliffs, freestanding pillars, precipitous drops, twisting roads and unparalleled views — a mini Grand Canyon, if you will. Earlier this week, with sunset colors looking promising, I ventured up to one of the many viewpoints (in this case, the Monument Canyon Overlook) and set up just before the low clouds began to glow with a reddish-orange hue that matched the sunlit sandstone. Just eating mangos at the top of the trail with my mango sized baby & the hubs 👶🏼🥭☀️(not planned btw haha) Been frustrated with my limitations being pregnant as my energy gets zapped so easily. Working out does not look the same and it’s been hard to accept. I really wanted to do a moderate hike and though my sweet husband assured me we didn’t have to go to the top, I was determined.
