Another look at this Ice Blue & Metallic Silver silk chiffon harem jumpsuit set by Ann Y Tempa, coming later today. 🩵 When I found this set I knew I had to dig as much into the history as I could. Please see below for my research & preliminary size info. Full details to follow once posted around 1-1:30pm pst. No Presale inquiries, please & thank you, Em 🩵 Ann Orsi & Tempa Arguimbau created the label in the mid 1960’s out of their homes in the New England area in the US. Ann, originally from Spain & her husband Memo, imported goods from Italy & held strong connections within the textile Mills. Tempa was good friends with Pedro Rodriquez, coveted Spanish Designer & good friend of Balenciaga. She often had custom made pieces designed by him for her own personal collection. Ann & Tempa decided to combine their skills & love for design, & created Ann Y Tempa; sourcing all fabrics & trims from Italy. They also hired renowned model Naty Abascal, “Valentino’s muse”, to model their designs. Their success skyrocketed, leading to them being featured in Vogue & WWD. Their designs were carried at Bergdorf’s, Saks Fifth Avenue & Bonwit Teller. All designs, patterns & cut garments were done by both Ann & Tempa, & they outsourced the sewing to expert seamstresses they knew. With this success also came the demand for larger quantities. Most of their designs were intended to be very small production runs of typically 1-10 pieces a style. And so unfortunately the label only lasted about 5 years, closing down around 1969. Most of the information above was provided by one of Tempa’s children I was able to locate via an assist from @bohovintagebham. For now, this is what I have.
