După foarte puțin timp îți dai seama care membru al formației a spus ceva. E scrisă în așa fel incât abia aștepți să vezi cine, ce replică dă, ce secret dezvăluie, ce părere a avut la acel moment. De la agenți, ziariști, critici de muzică, toți aveau aceeași părere însă: Daisy Jones & The Six erau fenomenali. Citești și îți imaginezi membrii trupei (de acum mai liniștiți, trecuți prin viață și fără resentimente), pe o canapea, unii dintre ei poate cu un joint între buze, alții cu blugii rupți și tricoul negru, fiecare dintre ei relatând aceleași evenimente în moduri diferite, așa că nu poți ști de fapt care e adevărul. Probabil că nici nu ai cum să îl știi vreodată. Și asta face trupa și mai interesantă. Apoi, când citesc despre partea în care scot cel mai bun album: “Aurora” , prin anii ‘77-‘78, las cartea din mână și intru repede pe Youtube să caut melodiile...dar îmi dau seama că Daisy Jones & The Six nu au existat niciodată. Textens fokus ligger mycket på bandets låtskrivande och om alkoholism, narkotika och annat kaos som kom med ett rockband. Det är romanser blandat med sammanbrott och konflikter. Det speciella med boken är att den är skriven i intervjuform, där bandets medlemmar flera år senare intervjuas av en författare som skriver en bok om dem. Jag har inte läst något liknande förut och till en början trodde jag att det inte skulle flyta på lika bra som en ’’vanligt skriven bok’’, men man vande sig och kom in i ett flow som greppade tag om mig så att jag inte kunde sluta läsa. Прочла я нашумевшую книгу, которую просто советовали с каждого угла, говоря о ней, как о топовом произведении.🔥 НО, у меня, увы такой влюбленности в эту книгу не случилось 😒 Рок-группа «Дейзи Джонс & The Six» стала настоящей Легендой. Но на пике своей популярности, в 1979 году, между участниками группы случился разлад, прямо посреди их концерта. Спустя 10-летия подробности случившего неизвестны. Настало время раскрыть эту Тайну. Да, это более взрослая история, нежели я привыкла читать, чтоб расслабиться, но не зашла мне книга по другой причине! История вертится вокруг Зависимостей: физическая, любовная, алкогольная, маниакальная, и в большей степени-наркотическая! Именно из-за последней, было тяжело читать эту книгу! Я избегаю подобных тем, людей, разговоров, мне это все неприятно и отвратительно! Так же в книге описаны последствия всех вышеупомянутых зависимостей… Автор конечно троекратно предупреждала, что все вымысел и совпадение с какой-то историей, это просто совпадение. Но на мой взгляд, «каркасы» были взяты как минимум историй двух групп, о которых многие знают, и соединены воедино… ну очень уж похожи 😀 Есть конечно над чем поразмыслить , прочитав книгу. Daisy Jones & The Six 🎸🎤 I rate this book a ⭐⭐⭐⭐ This book totally deserves four stars! @tjenkinsreid crafts a story that's like diving headfirst into the '70s music scene. The way she tells it through interviews makes it feel like the characters are talking the reader. The characters are so real, with all their messy relationships and rockstar drama. It's a wild ride from start to finish, and you can't help but get swept up in the music and the madness. My favourite part about the book is how Reid allows each character to have their own voice and to share their version of events. It adds depth to the story, as readers get to see how different people remember and interpret the same moments. This approach also creates a sense of intimacy, as if the characters are confiding their innermost thoughts and feelings directly to you, the reader. Listening to the songs on Spotify, got me totally hooked, and now I can't wait to check out the TV show. As many as I couldn’t believe the band didn’t exist! Like how?! I could swear there were millions of fan raving about “Honeycomb” (including myself if I had been alive in the 70’s). Because I was in a 3 month slump where I didn’t wanna read, consume book content and had no interest in books. And then I picked this up and the love reignited. Malibu Rising is one of the most beautiful books I’ve ever read - it follows the life of the Riva family; Mick and June and their kids Nina, Jay, Hud and Kit. The story is so interesting since it takes place in one singular day, on the day of the annual Riva end of summer party. But, within the first part of the book, we get flashbacks to the 60s where we see the love story between Mick and June unravel. 🌊🪩🐚🌅🏄🏼♂️🌤️ The characters were so challenged, fascinating and loveable. June had my whole heart, and I was breaking with her. She deserved so much more than what she was given:( and then the kids, Nina was so strong, and she took everything in her to make her family whole. Even if it broke her in the process. Also, Mick Riva was quite literally everywhere except with his kids???? he truly was scum of the earth 🤍 ☼.⋆｡𖦹 °˖ If you haven’t read this one yet, I highly, HIGHLY recommend it. The writing is so magical and keeps you engaged the whole time, and you’ll end up loving these characters so much. It truly is such an amazing book, and one that will forever be a favourite of mine. Btw, Taylor wrote TTPD about Mick and June, I will not be taking criticism on that bc just LOOK AT THOSE LYRICS???? The struggles she faced alone were truly heartbreaking. It’s hard to imagine how a person can handle all those things, but she proves otherwise. Lachlan was spot on about her smiles; they were rare, but whenever she laughed, it brought so much joy! He was the only one who could make her feel safe and secure, and that’s why their connection was so special and worked so well. Even with all the ups and downs, they were meant to be together. It took them three long years to finally get there, but this time, they both made sure nothing would come between them. One thing I wished for was more insight into their relationship from the beginning. It felt a bit too insta-lovey for my taste, and I really wanted to see more depth to their connection to understand why they fell for each other so quickly. Overall, I really enjoyed this. It wasn’t quite as dark as I was expecting it to be, but I was hooked and had so much fun reading about these two. This book, while emotional and sweet when it comes to their love, also explores some heavy themes, so I’d definitely recommend checking trigger warnings.
