It’s a 15/16 hour drive and when he flew from MA to LA he was medicated and still stressed asf & meowing so any tips of driving with an anxious cat is appreciated! So this was the first year that they’ve popped up in Tampa, and since SMF is taking a year break, it seemed as though everyone was eager to see what Breakaway was going to do. They had 2 “main stages” and one “pop-up” stage by Nutrl. There was no sound bleed, sound quality was good not great, they had some really great little activations (wish there was more art), security was quick and easy, great options at the bar — one thing I was not prepared for was it is an ALL-AGES festival, which is uncommon for the edm scene. The lineup had some serious talent, some standouts being: 🪩 @acraze — they’re down and really brought the festival vibes. 🪩 @troyboi — holy shit this set was good, kept the vibes high and took us on a journey 🪩 @rossykate — we love our women in the dj scene and she continues to throw TF down while keeping it engaging 🪩 @saidthesky — threw in some emo night bangers (shoutout WTK Check Yes Juliet remix) 🪩 @sofitukker — always a party, if you’ve never seen them I HIGHLY suggest. The energy is unreal. Vibes were high, easy to navigate, people were nice, and it was a solid blend of true festival goers and non. Would definitely recommend if Breakaway is in a city near you!
