Motherhood is patience, sacrifices, sleepless nights, achy bodies, and many days you don’t think you have the energy to do it. But YOU do. Because YOU are so much stronger than you ever imagined. Motherhood is also paired with little moments that make your heart want to burst out of your chest or you just want to cry happy tears because your in actual disbelief that you have found the kind of love that is so massive that it’s truly unconditional. You live for the little fleeting moments of joy, they literally get you through and make you want to wake up and do it all over again. As I type this up now, I myself am completely exhausted mentally and physically trying to both work, care for my toddler, and prepare for his upcoming birthday celebrations. Making food for guests while making lunch for him, while he throws a tantrum on the floor, and I’m wondering if I remembered to invite all of his friends, reaching out to people to see if they will come, coordinating pick ups and drop offs for my other son and his sports team, trying to keep my marriage strong, and trying to get back to my clients in a timely manner. Whew, I’m doing it, YOU are doing it too I’m sure, see…I told you Mothers we are incredible, we will do anything and everything for these little humans that God placed in our care because that’s what motherhood is… it’s thankless, chaotic, and the hardest most beautiful thing you’ve ever done in your life. As I drove home from work on a November day the sky started to darken, and the wind began to pick up ominously! I knew these conditions were an excellent opportunity to capture some dramatic landscape photographs. I went home and pickup my camera and raced to Burke Lake. I captured this photograph as the clouds began to build and take on a blue/grey color that reflected off the lake contrasting with the oranges and red fall colors. I made sure the rocks on the shore, which had unique colors all their own, were in the foreground. Enjoy!!
