FIREPLACE FLORALS don’t always have to be designed straight across the mantle. The epic fireplace in the house @elmorecourt is three metres wide and two metres tall, so I wanted to create more of a floral montage that framed the entire fireplace and grew up from ground level. We used lots of textural elements like genista, limonium, spirea, viburnham roseum and willow in this design to complement the bright blooms and I really loved the result. VENUE LED DESIGN // There are times when my designs are inspired and led by the venue in which we are working - whether it be a grand ballroom lit by crystal chandeliers, a rococo style space full of gilded touches or a stately home with its own unique colour palette. . For this wonderful winter wedding in November, the welcome dinner was to be held in the Great Dining Room, a space noteworthy for its uniquely unreconstructed grandeur - its original white and gold Palladian styling had been ravaged by dry rot, so in the 1970s the wall was partially stripped back to its bare brickwork, which has since been deliberately left exposed, allowing visitors to marvel at its layers of history. . For this occasion, our mood boards were full of whimsical, delicate and meadowy floral designs in de-saturated tones with pops of femininity, designed to perfectly complement this very special space. I just knew that @jennibloomflowers would create the most generous - yet sensitive - designs for the mantel, the fireplace and the tables, to enhance this room and it was such a delight to see her interpretation of the brief on the day - and the scent coming from this mantel arrangement was absolutely incredible! .
