It’s so wild that I have to say this is a *REAL* photo, not Ai. Did some experiments with water and flowers with set stylist @tim__nich and found some wild beauty there. It’s and plunge, and island, a dream realm… really just a flower, but some beautiful light and shapes in the water. How is AI shaping what you think is real? What you care to make and put effort into now? This is a seismic shift, where do we want it to lead?
This time of year when the weather keeps us inside more, we hold friends and family more dear, I’m thinking a lot about how we can be generous, including to those outside our circles. How we can show up for each other and the planet in ways that show we care? Perhaps listening to a friend more deeply, or choosing a new habit that leaves less of a footprint on the planet. Generosity can be a “yes” to that voice that says “I have so much and I want to share that with someone else”. After a 3 year hiatus I finally got to direct on set again 🎬 I had so much fun directing a few spots for the DreamWorks show #GabbysDollhouse on Netflix! (head on over to @dreamworksjr to watch) This adorable preschool-aged show needed some video and photo content for their new holiday merch, and I was approached by the fabulous @apovs to take on the job (and I enthusiastically said YES!). Directing multiple 3-7 year old girls was no easy feat but it was so much fun and I learned a lot. For the last 2 years I’ve been a full-time caretaker for my daughter- through a pandemic- I wasn’t sure when I’d have the opportunity to direct again and pursuing it has seemed near impossible. So to be thought of for this job and have it all work out so well was hugely meaningful to me, especially for my identity as a creator and leader. Directing commercials and ads is something I’ve always wanted to get into but it’s one of those tricky things where you need a reel before you can get hired but you can’t build a reel without a job. So I’m super excited to keep exploring this type of work and hey- maybe I’m gonna be the director who’s known for working great with kids? I’ll take it! Thanks to Audrey and @wearedmm for the opportunity. Thanks @dreamworksjr for making such an adorable show that my own daughter is now a HUGE fan of.
