A few weeks before our audition for for the show, we lost our dance brother @mike_reyno. It was hard not only for the #GDDfam but for many dancers in the dance community. This Sunday we get to honor him by wearing our “Make Someone Smile” shirts! These shirts represent his legacy and what he lived by. When Micheal passed his screensaver on his phone had a quote that said “Make someone smile” which is what he did exactly everyday of his life to so many people. We will keep his legacy alive by spreading just that and continue to make people smile!! We love you Michael 💛

The meaning and purpose of this experience is way deeper than making it on a TV show or fame, it’s about what the shirt says.. family. Experiencing things with people who mean the most to you, believe in you and proving you could do it. . . #GetDownDistrict was founded by @jaymakay and @officialvicktory in 2011, now in 2019 the name is being introduced to the world. Years of struggle, determination, failure, dedication and most importantly passion and love. They created “Get Down District” for the youth and next generation of dancers.. aspiring dancers for them to learn improve and have fun. They first opened their hearts to dancers who knew nothing and are now doing amazing things. It was never about being the best and still isn’t.. it’s about growth, journey and making memories of a lifetime. Why is #GDDfam the studio’s hashtag.. because family is what it’s always been about, through thick and thin.
