Happy Saturday ... it's been a long week! I was on a business trip to New Orleans this week and traveled home today. Weather in much of the country has been crazy hot and New Orleans was no exception. Every day I was so happy to get back to the hotel and change into dry clothes! Decided to try a sultry eye look today. I combined a couple of Sidney Grace single shadows (surprise gift from my first order) and some from the Blessed palette. Started by lining with ME After 60 and some My Savior high on the transition area. Added Smitten on the outer third, I ♥️ You for the middle third and PITA for the inner third. Added PITA above the lid, blending all the while. A tad of My Savior under the brow and in the inner corner with both PITA and My Savior lightly blended under the eye. Look of the day features six Sidney Grace shadows from the Blessed palette. Started by lining with FAM-ily and then leveraged the blendability of these shadows to create a dark purple outer lid/crease by layering Little Bit and FAM-ily over Shy Guy. Shy Guy continues along the lid to meet Sugar Tiger with My Savior in the inner corner. More My Savior on the browbone with a smidgen of Be a Blessing under the thinner portion of the brow. A bit more adventurous and my first multi-chrome... Started with the #Blessed palette by @glitzyfritzy again for today's Sydney Grace look and added Alexandrite multi-chrome cream shadow. Since the multi-chrome is a Blue Green with a Pink and Purple shift I decided to create a halo look with FritzyNESS in the middle. I used ME After 60 to line both my upper & lower lash lines (bit more dramatically). Once again Popnongie for under the brow as well as the inner corner. Life is a bit crazy so taking my creative breaks when I can and today that is my eye shadow! Using the #Blessed palette by @glitzyfritzy again for today's Sydney Grace look. SG shadows blend beautifully and are so enjoyable to use. Finally understand why they're a favorite for so many! Shades of pink and purple help make my green eyes pop so that's my color story today. I started with ME After 60 to line my upper lid while Little Bit is in my outer corner and transition. Shy Guy for the outer half of my lid blended with Sugar Tiger for the inner half. I used the shadows with dry brushes for a softer shimmer. Once again Popnongie for under the brow as well as the inner corner (becoming an unexpected favorite). Hmmm... Had fun today with my first Sydney Grace eye shadows. I picked up the #Blessed palette by @glitzyfritzy during the Christmas in July sale. It was such a treat to finally try the @sydneygraceco formula and create a look using Mary’s palette. I used a combination of FAM-ily and PITA as a liner and more PITA for my crease. My Savior is the perfect transition shadow and a hint of Popnongie is a pretty under brow highlight. #realtalk I play with makeup as a form of (art) therapy. I’m so attracted to the colors, textures, and possibilities! The makeup meditations that I create are mostly for me - a way to be creative and soothe myself at same time. I don’t post my eye looks very often. Sometimes I’ll try my best to capture a photo after playing with makeup, but it’s becoming more & more difficult (thank you again for the advice @shifty.shadow - it helped! 💕). My medical issues often get in the way and leave me discouraged/frustrated. Sometimes I find myself confused over simple things in a moment. Sometimes my hand or legs give out. Sometimes my vision changes and it’s hard to see. Sometimes I can’t feel certain areas of my body (which feels extra weird when you’re applying makeup to a face that feels partially numb). Sometimes my body spasms (repeatedly) and in different areas. Sometimes I’m so nauseous that I am sick. Sometimes I can’t use my dominant hand. Sometimes major depression, anxiety, & complex ptsd symptoms consume me. Sometimes I’m so tired that doing the simplest task will completely drain me. Sometimes I’m in so much pain that it’s hard to do much of anything. I’m an artist, but haven’t been inspired to paint since the move. But I have been inspired to play with makeup. I’ve been inspired to create eye looks, flat-lays, and color stories. And I’ve been inspired to share them and connect with y’all. Sometimes being an introverted, queer, single, disabled mom gets a bit lonely. I’m super thankful for this community and for all of you! The creativity, inspiration, support, and love here is so beautiful and sometimes it’s what gets me through days like yesterday.
