👋 Hey everyone! My name's Alvaro, I'm 24 years old, and my friends call me Alva. Originally, I'm from Mallorca, Spain. About 2 years ago, I decided to move to Switzerland on my own. Before that, I spent two months in Cologne, learning German so that I could settle in better in Switzerland. Swiss German doesn't faze me anymore. Friends from Spain recommended the job at Hiltl, as they've worked here themselves. 🌞 I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity I was given to practice my new language skills through my job at Hiltl. I started out as a barista, and I was able to work my way up and am now a head waiter at Hiltl. In the meantime, I've built a new social circle and made many friends - I even met my girlfriend through Hiltl. ⛰️ Even though I really miss the sun and my family back home, I feel at home here in Switzerland. In my free time, I occasionally play soccer and hang out with my favorite people. We love to get outdoors, hiking or camping in the mountains. Whenever I have a few days off, I try to visit my family and friends in Spain as much as possible. 👋 Hello, I'm Yueping Pauli-Zhang, originally I am from Shanghai, China. I have been working at Hiltl since 2006, back then when I started, I couldn't speak a single word of German. After 18 years at Haus Hiltl as a barista, I love to welcome our regulars and to serve them their daily cup of coffee. ☕ 🐲 Cooking is one of my great passions. I would say that I am expert when it comes to Chinese cuisine. Watching TV on a rainy day or taking a walk in the sun, are both things I enjoy doing and help me to relax. 📆 This September I am going to retire, for sure I’ll miss Hiltl and all the great people very much, but I'll still come here as a guest. A big dream that I have is to go on a long trip, perhaps to America, travel around Europe, or maybe go back home to visit my relatives. After my graduation I started working at the Hiltl pasty shop in 2019. Due to the pandemic, short-time working was introduced, and so I had the opportunity to attend business school. I was able to complete my office and commercial diploma, in addition to my work. At Hiltl, I was given the opportunity to fulfill my dream job. I have been working in Hiltl Coordination for over six months now. 📷✍️ In my free time, you can find me in second-hand shops and «brockis». I love giving clothes and different findings a second chance. Meanwhile my old job has become a hobby of mine. I bake a lot at home, especially with sourdough. 🌞 "Schöne guete Morge mitenand" - I'm Michi (23) from Kestenholz, Solothurn and I’ve been living in Schwamendingen, Zurich since last autumn. Before coming to Hiltl, I was a Fourier in the Swiss army and did a Gastronomy apprenticeship. Pretty often I was a guest myself in the Hiltl restaurants. I would go there between my dance classes that I taught, for a little snack and a break. At some point I became aware of the Junior Restaurant Manager position. It has now already been 1.5 years since I started working in this position at Haus Hiltl. Unbelievable how quickly time passes. It gives me great joy and positive energy being surrounded by so many great people, colleagues and guests every day. As a role model, it is always important to me to motivate my employees, so that we can inspire even more of our guests. 🍽️ Since I have worked in the gastro branch, I've never had regular working hours, so it was difficult to practice any hobby in an association. 4 years ago, I discovered shuffle dance (cutting shapes), which I taught myself in my free time. As I already mentioned, I gave lessions for this dance style. Dancing is still my greatest passion, it offers me the perfect balance to my daily work life. Today, I mostly dance alone and only occasionally do I step in to lead a class. 😉 I am looking forward to meeting you in the restaurant or on the dance floor.

🐕 Hi, I'm Nala, an Australian Shepherd dog and since September I've been working as part of the Food & Beverage team, so I'm the youngest member of the Hiltl family. 💚 As Sandra Schirmeier's better half, it's my duty to give her some routine and variety in her daily work. I'm a big fan of fresh fruit and vegetables so I'm very committed to veganizing our recipes at Hiltl. When I arrive in the morning, I like to start my tour around Haus Hiltl. My daily business includes meetings, where I often act as a calming influence by ensuring a more relaxed atmosphere. In general, I would say that I have settled in very quickly and I really feel at home here. 🐾 I love the water so much that some even call me a seal. On the weekends I love to do active things. I started as a shift manager at the Hiltl Sihlpost and fell in love with the place straight away on my trial day. Right away, my heart was also captured by the entire charming team. At the moment I am the assistant manager of the Bistro at Haus Hiltl. This summer I was in charge of the Hiltl am Strand at Badi Mythenquai and I'm already really looking forward to the next season. The diversity of tasks I have at Hiltl make my work varied and exciting. In any case, I am always open to new tasks and challenges.� 🏙️ I need the action in and around the house. The hustle and bustle of the city makes my working day even more eventful. But when I come home in the evening, I'm always very happy to find peace and quiet in the countryside. The surroundings of nature, the vineyards and my garden are the ideal place for me to recharge my batteries for the next day.� 🌳 For my inner balance, I also enjoy being out in nature in my free time. My big passion is horse riding, which I have loved since I was a little child. I look after a 9-year-old Icelandic mare and ride out with her 2-4 times a week. Primeiro restaurante vegetariano do mundo. E aí, galera! Aqui é o @gabrieldotleao e @fell.rojas. Hoje, vamos falar de um fato interessante: o primeiro restaurante vegetariano do mundo. Estamos falando do “Haus Hiltl”, situado no centro histórico de Zurique, na Suíça, próximo da rua comercial Bahnhofstrasse. A casa combina influências de comidas indianas, asiáticas, mediterrâneas e suíças, e conta com uma vasta gama de 100 pratos caseiros vegetarianos e veganos. Sua história remete ao alfaiate alemão viajante Ambrosius Hiltl, que, no fim da década de 1890, descobriu que sofria de artrite reumatoide grave. Seu médico, então, disse a ele que, a menos que parasse de comer carne, provavelmente morreria de forma prematura. Em 1904, aproveitou a oportunidade de comprar um restaurante que tinha comidas vegetarianas, e passava por dificuldades financeiras. O restaurante foi fundado em 1898, porém, logo depois de comprado por Ambrosius Hiltl, mudou o nome e a proposta para providenciar novas formas de sabores específicos, e passou a se chamar “Haus Hiltl”. Segundo o médico Marcelo Fiszman, uma dieta vegetariana pode ajudar no tratamento de artrite reumatoide, cujo processo padrão é caro e medicamentoso. Composta por grãos, legumes e vegetais, a dieta ajuda a aumentar a quantidade de ácidos graxos de cadeia curta e a diversidade bacteriana dos organismos, além de auxiliar no aumento da incidência de bactérias benéficas. É importante ressaltar que muitas doenças podem ser tratadas de formas alternativas e naturais (mediante acompanhamento médico). Last Swiss stop: Zurich, the largest and wealthiest city in Switzerland, a global center for banking and known for its fancy chocolates and expensive lifestyle.
