I've been having Thomas' Swirl breads for as long as I can remember, so naturally any time a new one comes out I have to try it. Last night I managed to track down the new Lemon Blueberry variety, and decided to make some for breakfast this morning. After spreading some butter, I took a bite, and didn't really get much flavor. A few bites in, the Blueberry started finally popping out to me with subtle lemony undertones. I gotta say, I'm not impressed. It wasn't until I added some cinnamon sugar that I started to enjoy the toast. They could've really pushed the flavor a lot more, rather than giving this a weaker profile. Like I’ve said, I really love Kream’s food. This was my first time visiting the Mall of Africa restaurant but my third experience @kreamsouthafrica. I had booked a private room for my baby shower because I wanted my family and friends to have the best experience of their food. I chose a set 3-course menu. I ordered crispy fashion fusion sushi, which is a crispy fried crab fashion sandwich, with Japanese mayo and teriyaki sauce for starters and smoked pork belly for mains. Now when you host an event, you don’t really enjoy much or remember much, everything tastes like nothing, so this might be subjective at this point. I think I liked the sushi because I’m a sushi girl and I enjoyed it. I have to say I remember not enjoying the pork belly though. Although my review might not be objective because it was a while ago, I do remember not being too impressed with the dish. It might have been the honey mustard sauce that I didn’t like or how the pork was prepared. It was too rich in taste and had the porky smell to it. I might need to go back for another taste but I don’t know if I’d want to risk it a second time. All in all, they hosted us so well and everything went so well. I didn’t ask if everyone else enjoyed their food but I’m sure they did. [2 pax] 🌟Notable dishes: 1. Feeka’s Breakfast, added Cured Salmon (54RM/~15SGD): Really good and super value for money. Portion was good. Scrambled eggs were fluffy and creamy, mushrooms were nicely seasoned and sautéed. Chicken balls + tomato was not substantial so I recommended adding the salmon. 🎉Overall Experience: - Coffee was good! Nothing crazy but reliable. - Staff was enthusiastic and friendly. - Arrived at around 930AM, and it was crowded and only had outdoor seating left. Chicken was juicy, tender and crispy and Sotong was mildly spicy but super as well. 🎉Overall Experience: - Lives up to the hype! Extremely crowded, arrived at around 12PM, but was still able to get a seat for 2. - Staff were very capable of multitasking, delivering and taking orders. Let’s dive into my recent excursion to The Featherbed Pub in Shrewsbury, part of the Marstons Brewery family. Thursday night's steal deal: a steak and a drink for £13.95. Although many of the tables were reserved , the pub was fairly quiet, making it easy to get served by their friendly staff. Now, the wait for food was a tad longer than expected, and when my plate finally arrived, it wasn't exactly sizzling hot. Despite ordering medium rare, my steak leaned more towards medium-well, but hey, hunger knows no bounds, so I dug in anyway and enjoyed it. The chips? Let's just say standard frozen chips that could have done with a few more minutes in the fryer. All in all, I'd give this spot a solid 6 out of 10.
