If you don't know, I LOVE grits and these are my new favourite! They are flavourful and fluffy! Reminds me of Asian Congee. 😍 🍩 Doughnut is delish, not greasy, perfect soft yeast doughnut with sugar and cinnamon. I didn't feel the need to use the syrup 🤷🏻♀️ 🥚 Deviled eggs were also good with the pecan-wood smoked bacon on top. 🥞Brunch is 11a-1p on Saturday & Sunday. We kicked off our Festival of the Arts weekend with brunch at Chef Art Smith’s @homecominfl — see what I did there? We started with a Southern Mary (complete with a pecan-smoked bacon, fried green tomato, and pimento cheese stuffed olive garnish) and a Moonshine Mash with fresh watermelon. For appetizers we shared fried green tomatoes and deviled eggs. They were both so good! (But have y’all ever know me to not love a deviled egg?) For our entree we shared the fried chicken and donuts with a side of grits. Matt’s favorite out of everything was the grits (this is becoming a theme), but everything we got was delicious! There were several entrees I wanted to try, so we’ll definitely be back. You can only eat so much when you have a full day of festival eating ahead! Of course I had to buy a koozie to add to my collection and how perfect that they had one to match my shoes. 🍗🍩
So we had brunch at @homecominfl and now we don’t have to eat again for possibly the rest of the month! 😬🤣 Andrew ordered the short rib hash, which is his go to if it’s on a brunch menu! I ordered the hush puppy benedict… settle in for this one - they take their famous pimento cheese hush puppies and form them into a patty for the bread of your benedict. Then they top it with ham, but I switched to bacon, because well, it’s bacon! 😂 Nope, not done yet… it’s then topped with their famous chicken tenders and topped with two eggs. Not pictured is the pimento cheese hollandaise sauce that is usually poured over the top. It arrived too late to the table for the picture, but it definitely makes the dish even better! Andrew enjoyed his, ate half of mine and we took the mac n cheese and gratin potatoes home. Yes, as if brunch wasn’t over the top enough, you can also order their famous mac n cheese as a side item at brunch. 🤣 That was our brunch experience at Homecomin at @disneysprings and it was amazing! We can’t wait to go back, because I really wanna try the avocado toast… I know, basic, but goodness… google pics, it also looked so so good! 💗 PS - If you aren’t local and can’t take home your leftovers, you may want to consider splitting a meal. The portions were huge! Oh yeah and don’t forget to ask for the homemade hot sauce! 🤤 Also, pro tip - don’t roll in for brunch on the weekends without a reservation unless you get there right at opening - Keep checking the Disney app, because we were finally able to snag a reservation close to midnight the night before. It’s a popular place and always busy, so at 10:45a there was already a 90 minute wait for outside seating only.
