Not a fan. Lunch at Polite Pig. When the best thing you taste on the tray is the vegetables… we really liked the brussell sprouts and street corn. We had the Butcher Board. The brisket and pulled pork- very dry. The chicken was ok. The cheddar sausage- meh. Grabbed some of the sauces hoping it would enhance the flavor but not really. This is the most disappointing meal we’ve ever had at Disney Springs and Rhea was really looking forward to eating here. It feels like you are eating at grandma’s house, with the cutest touches of southern comfort in all the decor and details. Our first Disney stop was Disney Springs. Which is such a great place to hang out when not at the parks. We had to get the bubble cone ice cream, I know I have posted this before but it is so good! The fam even went bowling at Splitsville! For three of us to bowl they charge you for an hour and a half which was roughly $70. We had plenty of time for almost three full games of bowling and they wait on you while you bowl. Did you know if you buy the drink sipper there OR at Homecoming you can get cheaper refills of specialty drinks at BOTH places for $15. That includes frozen and even mixing moonshine. Pizza Ponte: Located in Disney Springs, Pizza Ponte is a quick service restaurant that offers Sicilian-style pizza by the slice, along with a selection of desserts, wines, and beers. Back home my favorite cheat meal is an extra cheesy slice of pizza and I wanted to have pizza at least once during my Disney World vacation. This was one of the last stops before my flight home and it kept me plenty full. I had a hard time choosing between the Four Cheese and the “Big Roman”. The “Big Roman” would have made for a great review as it’s the largest slice of pizza in Disney Springs (I couldn’t find an actual measurement) and is the only triangular sliced pizza (the only way it should be in my opinion) at Pizza Ponte. Alas, I decided to pass it up because I was still relatively full from all the other delicious food on my trip and the Four Cheese, while not the largest piece, was still huge. The Four Cheese Pizza is cut in a rectangle and includes mozzarella, provolone, fontina, and parmesan cheese. there was plenty of flavor from the combination of four cheeses as well as grease. the crust was crispy, but not burnt. My ideal crust is thick and chewy, but for a thinner crust pizza this was impressive. I feel a little silly admitting this, but I didn’t realize the pizza was sauceless until my final few bites. Something felt a bit off and as I was jotting some notes down for my review it finally hit me. In a way this is a good thing as it shows the pizza is not too dry without the sauce. I’m hoping the “Big Roman” is still available whenever I make it to Disney Springs again as I would still love to review it. We had lunch at D'luxe Burger always filling and delicious. And of course desert at @gideonsbakehouse now I know this isnt the case but it's my bday month and if I had to have conjured up eveything I love in a cookie this would be it. Macadamia, white chocolate and caramel all encased in that dreamy, decadent Gideon's cookie dough it is what birthday cookie dreams are made of. I love rest days and honestly, we had never scheduled one until last year. We were a classic "open and close the parks" kind of family. Now we won't travel without one. Disney resorts have some of the best pools, and they make a great place to start the day and eat lunch. House of Blues in Disney Springs Burger with lettuce, tomato, bacon, pickles, and, onions, with a side of fries Free From: dairy, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, and shellfish This was my first meal from my trip to Florida. I went to the House of Blues in Disney Springs. They did a fantastic job reading me the menu and creating a dish that would work for my allergies. The waiter was educated in all things allergies and made me feel safe when ordering. Oftentimes, they can even bring out the chef if you ask them to! It always makes my day when I am able to have fries at a restaurant. This is a rare occurrence since fries are often shared with a lot of other foods. The House of Blues had a dedicated allergy frier!!
