I may not have placed first in my class, however I am so happy and proud to have placed third! It was my second ever individual entry at @harrogateflowershow in a category they haven’t ever done so couldn’t even research into what to expect. I am absolutely obsessed with houseplants so was so excited to get stuck into creating a this design. Actual blood, sweat and tears went into making it and I’m covered in scratches from trying to build the structure. Doing this competition has reiterated that houseplants are my thing and it’s about time I built a business! Some beauty shots of our pon living wall. This is a constant work in progress, we are always moving things around taking plants off and putting new ones it. Pretty happy with how it looks right now so we are showing it off! Some key plants: the philodendron gloriosum zebra and the philodendron sp Columbia (el guapo). We also have a panda galaxy syngonium and an albo syngonium that’s filling in the voids. There’s a bunch of other neat plants in here. This is Alex’s special project and he’s doing a great job! 👏 The switch to pon was hard on a few plants, haven’t officially lost anything but a few plants don’t have any roots anymore and quite a bit of leaf loss. The work is done. The houseplants look great in the @hortusleiden and can now be admired for everyone. This is a community project in which many people of different ages have participated and who have given their own interpretation to the assignment: embroider a houseplant in a pot. The great diversity in stitches and working methods is a joy to watch. It hangs in exactly the right place where plants get their attention. Can't miss it. It is the wall next to the entrance to the Hortus. I'm curious about the responses. Thanks to @bolhuisklaasleiden and @territoriumleiden for putting up the work! .. Het werk zit erop. De kamerplanten hangen er prachtig bij in de @hortusleiden en zijn nu voor iedereen te bewonderen. Dit is een communityproject waarin veel mensen van verschillende leeftijden aan hebben meegedaan. Zij hebben hun eigen invulling gegeven aan de opdracht: borduur een kamerplant in pot. De grote diversiteit in steken en werkwijze is een genot om naar te kijken.
