First impressions of the Dark Horse on the track 🏁 - It was very wet and slippery and the car handled extremely well (or about as well as 500hp RWD could handle in the rain 😆). The handling was predictable and confidence-inspiring, even in poor grip conditions - The car feels huge driving it around town but on the track, it felt nimble and actually quite light. The steering had good feedback and turn-in felt agile and precise - The brakes far exceeded the tire grip in the wet conditions ☔️ The stopping ability is insane - It is LOUD, even from inside the car 🙈 Overall, I LOVED driving it on the track and I can’t wait for the next event (hopefully in better conditions 😅🌧️) . #darkhorse #mustangdarkhorse #s650 #s650mustang #trackmustangs #trackday #hpde

Wow. Getting our Top Dog Trophy organized has taken three years! In year one (2021), the trophy got caught in US customs, and the event was missed by one day. In 2022, the figure on top got damaged, and we had to send it back to England for repair. The trophy made it to Summit Point last year for the third annual championship, but we had not found someone to engrave the winners properly. But this year, we are ready! It's hard to see in this photo, but all three winning teams are attached to the trophy on sterling silver plaques, thanks to E&H Trophy and Engraving in Los Angeles. The trophy will be at Summit Point in October, and we hope to present it to the Chief of Staff of the winning military service in November to keep until the next event in 2025. It's been a journey. We took some time to chat with Santi recently about how he got started: Q: How long have you been doing HPDE? I started doing HPDE events back in 2012 after years of auto crossing under my belt. Once I did my first HPDE I knew I was hooked. By my second year, I was doing more than 30 days/year. Q: What's your favorite track? Currently, it's @limerockpark. LRP demands that you give your utmost concentration every second of every lap with no time to rest before the next lap starts. This, coupled with the elevation changes and the scenery you experience behind the wheel - it's epic! Q: How did you get started with HPDE? A childhood friend invited me to come along to what was his second HPDE event so he could have someone to talk to. After the first session I knew that I had to come back as soon as possible. This was the first step on a very slippery slope! Q: What advice do you have for getting started? Just like that famous shoe ad - Just Do It! Put all your fears aside, stop coming up with excuses that your car needs xyz such as a new turbo kit, new suspension, bigger cams, the big brake kit, an LS swap, etc. (it doesn't, trust us). The HOD culture is so welcoming to new drivers that you'll regret not signing up earlier. The amount of lifelong friends you will make will floor you. You cannot believe how much you will learn and how much safer a driver you will become on the street...all the while having a blast on track! Big shoutout to @therealmoehpde for the first day out in the G87. A ton of fun but also a bit difficult. There were no PBs broken, many point bys, and to be totally transparent - I was feeling uneasy until the 5th & 6th sessions. It’s probably a combination of the car needing some dialing, my nerves and a 39-driver group with an SOF I’ve never experienced. This sounds like complaining but I promise it’s all positive.
