Yesterday was my birthday & I wanted to do things we've never done! A fun fact about me is that I'm a tourist no matter where I live. Hometown just outside of Baltimore & DC, went to college in Southern WV & bought my first home near the Myrtle Beach coast. In all those places, I made it a point to enjoy what they had to offer. I mean why move somewhere if all you want to do is leave it? I am a firm believer to #bloomwhereyouareplanted & enjoy your city & surrounding areas with fresh, optimistic eyes. So after living in Chattanooga for six years, we finally made it to the @tennesseeaquarium & enjoyed a quiet cold afternoon with tons of turtles & funny looking fish. It was perfect! Then we we're going to walk to @easybistro but it was cold & we we're both tired after walking the aquarium for 3 hours. A quick zip & we were seated to sip on a special single barrel @oldforester named Lucille & enjoy a well-crafted, well rounded meal of cauliflower soup, fig & goat cheese salad, oxtail pasta & oven roasted yellowfin tuna. It was all amazing, including the whiskey & chocolate pairing dessert. As many Libras celebrate their birthday all week or month long ( #IAintAshamed), there are more shenanigans planned to celebrate the big quatro dos as well as this gorgeous weather! Yesterday’s buttercup harvest 😍 Although it is not recommended to consume these delicate little flowers, I still like to collect and dry them for a variety of uses. 🌸 These grow naturally in my front yard so, come springtime, I allow my yard to grow long so that I can enjoy the wildflowers and discover the natural foliage growing around my property. This year, I’ve come across some really neat wildflowers that I will transplant and keep growing to support the natural balance of my ecosystem. 🌞 LOL! I decided I should finally teach myself how to actually, properly use the recording software I have on my laptop. So I chose to embark on this synth project! It only seemed like the natural choice. Even though I'm not really a New Wave guy, I absolutely love Nightcall! It's my favorite synth song. I saw the movie Drive about a decade ago and I just thought Ryan Gosling was definitely the coolest dude in Los Angeles. The image of The Driver careening through the streets of LA at night is burned into my mind. How could it not be? And all the while, this awesome soundtrack plays, too! With the exception of the acoustic guitar and my own voice, everything else you hear is created by the computer. All the synth keyboards and what-not. Thankfully, I now have some knowledge of how to play the piano, so I was able to use the built-in digital keyboard (the QWERTY keyboard can be played as a synthesizer). I threw in the guitar because I did want at least one actual instrument in there! Also, I thought it would make a neat contrast to all the electronic stuff going on everywhere. Please appreciate the effort, guys! This took me nearly thirty (30!) shours to make. I had absolutely no idea what I was doing, okay? 😅 How did I do?
