235/2023 - Exploring the Innsbruck coffee shops on a public holiday Since 2 coffee shops I wanted to visit were closed [Brennpunkt & haepinest], (hint: never go on a city trip during public holidays), I had to look elsewhere. A stroll through old town led me to Felice. With a high rating of 4.6 on Google Maps this place seemed to be good. I was proven wrong very quickly. The dark roasted coffee beans come from a roaster I've never heard of before. Fantini, based in Italy. The Espresso roast, simply called «Bar» is a blend of Brazilian, Indian & Indonesian coffee. The Espresso tastes like: burned wood, ash, tobacco, dark chocolate in the aftertaste. Bitterness was extremely high. This was the most bitter tasting espresso I've ever had. From Fantini's website: «Temperatures are raised progressively from about 180 to 250 °C (356 to 482 °F) and heated for anywhere from 7 to 20 minutes» = they basically burn the coffee beans to ash!! Double shot: 3.90 € {cash only!} Equipment (Sanremo Opera two group machine and Eureka grinders) deserves higher quality coffee beans to work with imho. Overall impression: nice and friendly staff, high quality equipment but unfortunately the worst quality coffee. Imho: this place doesn't deserve the 4.6 rating mentioned above. I'd give it 2 stars. Pomysł na odwiedzenie Innsbrucka narodził się spontanicznie i sama sobie dziękuję, że podążyłam za tą myślą. To miasto to idealny kierunek na krótki, weekendowy (w tym przypadku majówkowy) wypad. Innsbruck ma swietny vibe, jest wyluzowany, ale nie senny. Nie przytłacza też nadmiarem atrakcji czy rozmaitych bodźców. Są muzea, galerie sztuki, bogata baza gastro, jest też, gdzie robić zakupy. I oczywiście góry. Habsburska starówka na tle ośnieżonych szczytów Alp robi niesamowite wrażenie. Muszę pochwalić władze miasta za Innsbruck Card, bo to jedna z niewielu kart turystycznych, której zakup naprawdę się opłaca. Nabywając ją turysta dostaje bezpłatny wstęp do WSZYSTKICH muzeów i tym podobnych (a jest tego trochę), nielimitowany bilet na komunikację miejską, jeden bilet góra-dół na dowolną kolejkę górską, jedną pieszą wycieczkę miejską przewodnikiem. I jeszcze więcej. Byliście w Innsbrucku?
