💥The story behind MiND Magic💥 When I was planning to launch a calendar this year, I decided to name the calendar first and not leave it to the last. I was under the impression that I would have a list of name, then I would shortlist and finalize. And it would take time. However, surprisingly the name was decided in a flash of a moment while I was at work. I already had in my mind that this year the theme should be around mental wellbeing. Personally, I had tough couple of quarters transitioning between work and mom duties. So, I had mental wellbeing as a key priority this year. And then MiND Magic title came to me. I tried hard to have other options and finalize, but couldn't think of any other title. Mind is a marvelous little thing and it is responsible for the Magic in our lives. Hence the name. How do you RESUME your creative practice? Hello fam. I am back again. Well, you know I haven't been much active on the gram last 2 months as I had some other personal commitments. So, after that I have been thinking how do I get back the flow. Where should I start from? What theme should I choose? I was kinda lost here. But then I had been following fellow creatives which have uplifting content. I had a conversation with a like-minded fellow creative and she motivated me to start by taking 5mins each day. While we already know this, sometimes all you need is a word of support and encouragement from your friends and community. Don't you agree? DOES IT HAPPEN TO YOU TOO?? . . . . You thought of working on an idea but when the actual time came, you parked that idea aside, realizing that is not what you wanted to do. Yes, it happened with me. Beginning of the year, I had some creative project in mind for the first quarter. But haven't really been able.to push myself to start it. Inertia. When February came in, I decided not to waste any more time thinking how and when to begin that creative project, and parked that idea aside for now. Instead, I let myself try free hand and set myself lose. So, that I get the flow and the momentum. I have started doing #10minutemagic paintings (if you can call them) or art journal pages started by @priscillageorgeart. And it has worked wonders already. Also this page is inspired by a wall art on @artistmamtasingh feed. I am Okay with pushing the timeline for my creative project a little later. Isn't that better than not giving your 200% to the project? And they are working wonders. The subject or theme is entirely different from the creative project i wanted to start. Nevertheless, I am happy I am taking time out atleast a couple of days for art. 3 Tips You Can Consider To Resume Art Creation After A Break ⭐ Relax and accept the fact that it is okay to take time. AND THAT'S A WRAP🥳 My first creative project that I shared with you all - Gratitude Delight 2021 Art Calendar comes to a close. ⭐ I thank everyone for your support and encouragement on this. It was a pleasure to have you a part of my creative journey. A huge thanks to my parents who have been a tremendous support in this journey. I wasn't sure if I could do this with a little one, but it is only because of my MOM that I took the first step, which is to start with what I have. I decided on the pastel paintings and landscapes theme for the calendar. My DAD helped me find a printer and did all the mailing. All this happened because I expressed my interest in doing this project, which was on my mind for the last couple of years. I did not think I could do it. But, I could see a shift in my mindset in 2020. There is never a perfect time to start. It is NOW. So, when I told about it to my Mom, she immediately asked me to start and plan for it. That was the PUSH we all need. I am happy that I have my family to give me that push. I am so lucky in those terms. Then I involved my sisters and brother for their expert comments. @achallasrikant @smilewithpranavi helped me in arranging the order of the paintings. This is how I could manage even when I had my little one to take care of. 🌿 I strongly believe that when you have that urge to create something, you let that idea 💡 into the universe, it will definitely respond. So this was my first time using @dixiebellepaint ! It’s one of the colours from the new Silk range and we are pretty lucky to have it here as it isn’t even available in the US yet ! So what’s my verdict ? I absolutely love it ! I wanted to do a direct comparison with my beloved Fusion so I used the same Stag furniture and the same rollers . With its built in primer like Fusion , I just went straight in with my usual two to three coats , no topcoats required either (although as these were travelling all the way down south the next day I did actually add some to be extra careful! Would I use again ? Definitely! In fact for dark colours I personally would choose this over Fusion as I found it slightly easier to work with , bear in mind this was using a roller ,I can’t comment on brush application. Yup you are on the right page , yup it’s still little miss perfect paint finish here , but I went all a bit crazy and I absolutely loved doing it ! Last Friday I went to the lovely Selby to visit @linda_karslake_paint_studio for a one day paint course with my lovely painty friend Carolanne from @chic.effects . I needed to let go , I needed to relax and have some fun with my painting , I needed to get right away from my comfort zone and by eck Linda certainly made me do that ! I had amazing fun with a bit of decoupage, colour mixing , stippling , glazing and just getting into a downright bloody good mess , damn it was so therapeutic and felt sooo good to just let go and break all my self inflicted rules ! So if you are a bit arty or just a bit more knowledgeable than me you’ll recognise this artwork although it’s been slightly edited as I used a bit of artistic licence and obliterated the poor fellas head that she had in a headlock (I’ve actually just googled and it’s called The Kiss 💋 hmm not much kissing going on now I’m afraid Mr Klimt -sorrreeee 🙈 What do you think !
