Expectativa v/s realidad. Parte III . Durante la Edad Media, las pirámides de Guiza, en Egipto, eran conocidas en Europa como los “Graneros de José”. José había sido un israelita que, tras ser vendido por sus hermanos a los egipcios, interpretó un extraño sueño del faraón 😴 en que vacas flacas y espigas secas devoraban a vacas gordas y frondosas espigas 🐄🌾. El significado, para José, era claro: una gran hambruna azotaría Egipto y era necesario prepararse, acopiando grano en enormes almacenes. Las pirámides, en la imaginación europea, eran esos graneros. . Cuando los europeos en el Renacimiento comenzaron a viajar con más frecuencia, no tardaron en darse cuenta de que las pirámides, en realidad, no tenían la estructura de un granero ni las condiciones para almacenar alimentos 🤔. Hoy sabemos que las pirámides de Guiza son suntuosas tumbas que tres generaciones de faraones -Keops, Kefrén y Micerino- mandaron a construir en el siglo XXVI AC, una de las épocas más desiguales de la historia de Egipto. . The painting from Jean de Mandeville, Voyages a book from, Bibliothèque nationale de France the National Library of France. A 15th-century French painting copied from an older Chinese watercolour suggesting that the Chinese knew of Australia long before Captain Cook. The painting shows explorers in the Indian Ocean using an astronomical instrument for navigation and also encountering a "kangaroo" like creature on foreign shores. The Chinese described encountering a creature known as Shan Lai Jing who possessed the head of a deer, hopped, and had a second head in the middle of its body.
