This is how we du! So proud of my 2nd-time Junior Duathlete. It was HOT 🔥 by the start of the Youth Races, but he kept on moving and transitioned like a champ. As for me, I had my 2nd fastest Columbia Gateway course finish. While my two run legs were actually faster than 2023, the headwind at that one critical hill on the bike course killed momentum each lap, resulting in a slightly slower bike leg than last year. I gave it my all, left it all out there, and that's always good enough! Called on some of my fellow @ripitevents team members and grabbed my Mini for a trial ride/run of the Columbia Gateway Duathlon course. The race is just 4 weeks away, and each of us "Ripped It Good" in this practice. Especially proud of my Mini, who grinded up the final hill of the youth course all on his own, then ran a mile, just like race day. Thanks to @michael.d.givens for pacing him on his run. Me? I'm feeling a bit under the weather, so I am pretty happy with today's training. I took the first loop of the course with my Mini to pace him for his loop, then continued on for another 4 loops before finishing with a 2 mile run of the run course. I paced a bit slower than race pace today, and that's OK! It was Transition Day on the training plan but Pippi ( my road bike) is at Dirt Rooster Bicycles getting tuned up for next month's Duathlon and given the rain, it would have been an indoor day anyway. So 2 hours of movement in Daddy's Gym completing a 10 minute run, 30 minute ride, 10 minute run, 30 minute ride and 10 minute run. A little over 19 miles logged. Shew!
