Semi-free form: waaaay less handling and twisting. Compassion and TLC; wash as needed (1 x month with a good rinse inbetween) but retwist for now at my length—4-6 weeks. I began to miss the ritual of it all. The Friday or Saturday morning plan to wash and set my hair—pick a couple of good movies and post up with my tools and get it done. Because like my mother, I taught myself on my own head. And also like her, because of disappointment in others I had an awakening and awareness to my own ability. What I know for sure… Protect your hair at all cost. I’ve been wearing hair extensions for over two decades, I had my first sew in weave at the age of 13. I didn’t call it a protective style at the the time … but it definitely was. My Mom allowed me to get a weave so I would not put a lot of heat on my hair. I’m so thankful to my mom for always encouraging and demanding her girls to take care of their hair. I haven’t always followed her guidance, but in the last five years I have and I Love my hair.
