We can have the life Jesus promised us but it does not come without a battle. The ruler of this world, the devil, still rules over this world and we are not of this world. Therefore, the promised land is to come but just like the Israelites we will have to fight. This is why it is important to put on the armor of God. The deeper you go in Christ the taller you can stand. Most people know about God, but that is quite different from knowing God. There is nothing more wonderful than knowing God just like in our human relationships. There is so much more of God to know. That's why showing up every day to spend time with Him is important, just as it would be to spend time with your spouse or future spouse. If we make knowing God the greatest pursuit of our lives everything else will find its proper perspective. Once you become aware that the main business that you are here is to know God, most of life's problems fall into place of their own accord. When we have made Jesus the Lord over our schedules, when our plans or dreams don't work out as we think they should we are not worried because we know God holds our futures and He is directing our steps and this is the peace of God that surpasses all understanding. When those plans don't work out, it's just redirection. Anxiety is an increasingly common experience in our world. If the devil can cause us anxiety then he will because anxiety keeps our thoughts off of God and on our circumstances and also off of what God can do in and through our circumstances. If we are not careful we can be swept into a spiral of over thinking and worry. But God tells us to come to Him with everything. To submit something to Him, to bring it to Him in prayer is to recognize that He is Creator and Director and He is above all things, yes even that thing that you are worried about. He alone has the power to protect and direct your life. Even in the most anxious of times when the world says we should be in a panic, we can be assured that God is with us, and He is more powerful than our anxiety. When we give our circumstances over to God, we are moving out of the way to allow Him to step in and handle whatever we face. Because whenever we try to take control, we often worsen the spiral of anxiety and worry and therefore the circumstance. We all have been there but we don't have to stay there. This time I found this really rather large house here. And while I do find this gigantic glass spire strangely beautiful, and although I truly marvel at the engineering achievement that made this a reality - the moment I laid eyes upon it I knew two things: 1. This is nothing less than the Tower of Babel, completed. They overcame the bounds of language and cultural differences, but the ancient lesson against pride and vanity is entirely forgotten in this place. And they're building a bigger one... 2. This could never ever have been a woman's idea because it's dreadfully impractical while there is so much space all around. Oh, and women don't generally suffer from that sort of over-compensation that makes you build big and long things... Bigger and longer than your neighbour's... 🙄 So, Dubai... Everybody here is rich, beautiful, haughty and veeery instagramable. "The glitter and the gold, it feels like safety and control...". Yea, this is a fancy place full of borrowed wings. Found them too. I kinda enjoyed running around this place in my shabby Hobo-look, offsetting the whole ambiente by just an iota, for a tiny second there. Numbers 33:50-53 Archeologists have found that the language for the concept of “high places” and the sites themselves evolved over time to refer to religious installations and less to their height or location. God warned the Israelites about the Canaanite high places and the worship of false gods at these site. Common features of Canaanite high places were standing stones, an altar for sacrifices, a holy tree or pole or grove called an asherah. There were sometimes carved or sculpted images of a Canaanite god. One remarkable example of a well preserved high place is at Petra, Jordan. This high place was used by the Nabataeans in the 4- 3 century BC. The 700 steps up to the site are somewhat soften by the spectacular scenery and views of the monuments below. High Neb 🗺📍 TP3795 🚩 Elevation - 1503 ft 🆙️ 9.3 miles 👣 We walked through along Bamford Edge, through Bamford Moor up and over the High Neb rocks 🪨🧗♀️ Scroll for Fred Flinstone but he's made from rock. Bamford Edge is a gritstone rock outcrop located near Bamford. Bamford Edge, at a height of 1381 feet overlooking Hope Valley and Ladybower. Bamford has an interesting history. It was included in the Doomsday Book and remained a small agricultural village until the corn mill, which was burned down and then sold in about 1780, was converted to a water powered cotton spinning mill. There are bronze age stone circles out on the Moor too 🥉 as well as a prehistoric cairn, although the cairn has been disturbed, it displays extensive and complex structural features. It forms one of a small group of dispersed larger cairns on the Bamford moors and is dated to the Bronze Age. It appears to have been robbed of stone, however, the structure still remains higher than the surrounding landscape, indicating that much undisturbed material is likely to remain, especially below ground. Likely to include human burial remains and complex architectural features.
