My best #cufftop? PROBABLY. Fabric bought with an idea of making some pillowcases for the boys but that hasn’t gone well for them. New pj’s for me. No regrets. This fabric was in the quilting section at Spotlight but it’s lovely and soft, the facings are ochre linen from @wearethefabricstore and softy soft elastic in the cuffs from somewhere else. I usually make myself a #carolynpajamas top when I need to, but this is obvs super easier and it led me to thinking about how many cuff tops I have made and I think that number would be around 8. Is that a lot? I know I’ve made 8 pairs of #fremantlepants, too many #gabbytop’s to count, way too many #larktee’s to count and infinity number of knit pencil skirts. Maybe 6 #lbtop’s and 4 #celestialdress’s, at least 6 or 7 #anitapontepants and the #athinatop and #mandytop in the low millions. Actually I made another really nice cuff top recently which needs a post, but I was too traumatised by #memademay in 2018 to continue taking photos of everything I sew. A collection of #ootd from the past 2 weeks My Ukrainian top given to me by the MSF staff in Mariupol when I finished my mission there. Obviously this top has gained much meaning lately and I'm wearing it a lot; my heart is wringing for Mariupol and its inhabitants. #morganjeans two days in a row. I finally did climb Mt Cargill. There actually is a signpost near the top! (But does it make up for the absence lower down? Hmmmmmmm) naturally the clouds came in but it was a great walk and something I'll probably do again as a run. Now as for clothes, I went to a cafe first so needed something that didn't look too much like exercise wear. I find that suddenly having choice after so long where it didn't matter - I have no idea what to wear! Whipping up a #LBTop to wear tomorrow! I love this pattern. This is my third one in a dark green rayon blend knit from @RickRackTextiles. I first saw this fabric a long time ago in mustard in a make by @jasikaistrycurious and fell in love. I’m making the smallest size with no mods. This pattern goes up to a 113 cm/44.5”bust and 36 cm/14 1/8” bicep. I wasn’t able to whip up anything fancy for my birthday, but being cozy is still nice. I had 3 things on my sewing pile to make for myself before I start sewing holiday gifts. #lbtop in orange linen, #lbtop in maroon boiled wool & #peppermintpocketskirt in orange linen. I messed up something on each garment. 😢Nothing major or scrap-worthy, all (likely) fixable. But dang! It’s such a bummer to plan, get excited, do the work and end up with not what you expected. And three projects in a row- that really stinks! Anyway, I’m always learning lessons as I go. The big lesson this time - try on skirts/pants before you add the elastic (in case your pockets are at your knees, for instance). Really not sure how to fix this...any tips, advice or ideas welcome! Or I just wear it as-is & make knee-pockets a thing?! 😅 As for the LB tops....has anyone else had an issue with the neckband not fitting (too small)? I’ve made 3 now & every single time the neckband is too small so I have to gather the neckline while sewing it on or re-cut the band all together. Also the arms turned out really slim on the boiled wool version, even though I graded wider? Confusing. I may skip the turtleneck style & just bind the neckline instead on both of these. #memade & #sewingmessups 🤷🏼♀️

March was a little harsh on us. We were forced to stay at home to flatten the curve. Plans were cancelled, lives were taken, hospitals are full, empty stomachs, minimal support from the government and an endless battle with online trolls. Personally, it was last month when I experienced the unthinkable. I was robbed and a gunshot was fired. I thought I was gonna die but I believe God and my mother saved me. It wasn't fired at me. It still lingers but at least now, I can sleep better. Hopefully, the world will get better soon. I know we can't wait to go back to our normal routines.
