This course is where the next OLG tournament will be held so I had to get out here a head in advance first before I play for some actual bragging rights. But I’ll take the bragging rights for today as I beat Don! Listen it didn’t come easy; Don scratched and clawed his way thru the round eventually scoring an 82. His buddies called Dublin Ranch “Don’s Ranch” and as expected, Don cupped in for birdie on hole 11! He’s got no quit I tell ya! I may hit it farther than him occasionally but he’ll be near or on the green like consistently🙄 but all jokes aside it was nice seeing him and the guys after 4 months. I finally got “show off” my golf game I’ve been working on and it showed! I beat Don, I think for the 4th time out of like 30 so it’s like a blue moon occasion. ALOHA 🤙🏼 🌴 ⛳️ . . . #latepost the one round of golf played while on Spring Break in Hawaii so you know it deserves its own post! I haven’t been to Hawaii since 2015 so to experience Oahu with my wifey @mndaplzz was especially fun! (Post coming soon) Amanda found a couple courses that seemed affordable and nearby so it was decided to play at Ala Wai Golf Course on Wakiki/Honolulu. After seeing some #yelp reviews I was a little skeptical but we were on vacation so I had to block out that noise! Lol we were originally planning to play it halfway thru our trip but tee times weren’t available (visitors can only reserve tee times up to 3 days in advance) and this course is touted as the busiest course in America. 🙄 #tbh it wasn’t that bad at all. It was slow at times but that’s golf with a lot of par 3s on the course. With a majority of the locals being walkers it wasn’t too bad as Amanda and I were paired with an older couple. The guy was an absolute stick for his age but the two weren’t that chatty. I tried to be overly positive but the guy just didn’t take to my “bro” attitude. As much as I would’ve loved to record the round, it was nice just to experience it all. Nice views and not too difficult. I say that after shooting a 41 on the front and then just fumbling the bag on the back 9 and ended up with an overall score of 9️⃣5️⃣. Dehydration, fatigue and jet-lag are my excuse but I still enjoyed myself. And I’m glad Amanda was there to basque in the 70 degree weather with me. TIME TO VLOG 🏌🏽⛳️ . . . Another #latepost Larry, but two Saturdays ago, my buddy @thelegendluis invited me to play some golf with @f.millz_ and his brother David at the @mickegrovegolflinks in Lodi, CA. It was perfect opportunity to practice some g before my Spring Break trip to Hawaii (post coming soon) and while we have played matches in the past, Luis didn’t want to lug around his tripod so I ended just vlogging like an old singular video for my #youtubechannel . And boy does recording myself add ten pounds, I mean, ten strokes! I scored a 95 here last time and this time around I finished with a 1️⃣0️⃣5️⃣. It hasn’t been too long but I haven’t been able to play 18 holes too often so the struggle was real. I lost 5 balls, had more than a couple three-putts and ended the round pretty frustrated with myself. Don’t get me wrong, I love the game but like I was just getting upset with myself because I lost the ball in green grass and couldn’t even find my white balls. WINTER LEAGUE FINALE! ⛳️ #latepost but the league finally commenced about 3 weeks ago down at @swingcenter209 . The last round was played on the @aboutgolfsims at @hazeltinenational for the final week of the Winter League 2k24. I played okay. And played kind of meh as you can tell by the stats. In one of the clips, I hit my PW 151 yds, on a par 3 that was 124 yds away 🤷🏽‍♂️As I needed a miracle to make a comeback, it just didn’t happen as I finished with a 8️⃣7️⃣ which if I can continually break 90 at new courses, I’d be damn proud; but the competition just got to me in the end. I just couldn’t figure out putting the last couple of weeks of the league and it shows. While I only hit mainly 3-wood off the tee this time, I was just inconsistent when I needed to be better lol Enough of my melodramatic attitude, big s/o to Brian and his staff for running this league as smooth as it was enjoyable. While I ended up short of placing in the top 3, I still had a lot of fun! WEEK 5 UPDATE! ⛳️ Another #latepost Larry as I played a couple weeks ago for the 5th week of the Winter League season two down at the @swingcenter209. The week’s course was Peligro Range on the @aboutgolfsims And after further inspection I believe this was another created course but placed in LV. The scenery was a nice back drop but the course was tough. If you know by now I only hit 3 wood off the tee and well virtual golf is tough to show hills and undulations so where I thought I’d get a little roll out on my tee shots, I had no idea the slope of all the fairways. I’m not a #stinger type of hitter and maybe that’s the shot I was playing, but each par 4/5 tee shot seemed to be a stinger, except for the one in this post. I eventually would get a birdie and a handful of pars but where I could try to get a bogey I would end with a double bogey. Sometimes golf be like that sometimes but I broke 90 and scored 8️⃣8️⃣. With my HCP for the league being +18 I’ll only gain 2 strokes on the competition. THREE-PUTT MACHINE ⛳️ #latepost Larry and it’s only just a week late this time around but…last weekend my good friend @ryannn1289 joined me for a round out at @jacktonegolfcourse. We hadn’t played golf since New Year’s Day so it was nice catching up and talking smack. But back to the golf. I don’t know if the simulator is to blame for my atrocious putting, but I could not get a read on those greens. I mean I had 7 holes where I three-putted. Kind of glad we didn’t record for my YT channel, although we were paired up with two guys, Brayden and Payden(sp.). There were some pretty cool guys so it was good company to have for the 4 hour round we had 😑 I was a bit inconsistent with my 3-wood and I couldn’t get my ball from the fairways to the green for a GIR so it was v frustrating. I believe this was another created course since it doesn’t exist after a couple #google searches. I played pretty decent down at the @swingcenter209. I wouldn’t say it was great but I made a lot of pars with some long distance putts! The greens weren’t too difficult to read but some of the putts just didn’t fall. I had to come back and make a run for the top spot this time lol the first week’s course was at the @thewildernessgc on the @aboutgolfsims. You know what that means too? SMALL WORLD! ⛳️ Back wit anotha #latepost📷 where I played some golf. It happened almost *three* weeks ago that I have kind of forgotten all the deets. So basically my brother’s two neighbors are people I went to high school with; Arnaldo (don’t know his IG) and I both played soccer together at Davis all 4 years and @_juicee__91 played basketball at Davis, I think he was a grade or 2 below me. Funny how things work out and Hugo and I have been talking about setting something up for a while now and well here you have it. We played at @modestogolf Dryden Park on a Saturday morning. It was only supposed to sprinkle later that morning and we had the first tee time at 7:11 am, or something like that and we thought we’d miss the rain. Well it was a lie! It started to sprinkle as we were on the tee box for the first hole! And it was a continual drizzle and nice amount of rain. Nothing to get upset over however I think it affected all of our games. I continue to hit my 3-wood so much better than my driver that at this point it’s almost a foregone conclusion LOL in the end I scored a 9️⃣9️⃣ but I blame it on the rain. Loving the #cliptech #toolsystem so far, its really streamlined my workflow, making it easy to swap between #electrical #lowvoltage #photography and the various other hats I wear. Sadly @toughbuiltindustries hasnt been too thoughful of us #southpaws and the cliptech hammer holster they sell is decidedly right handed. So I harvested the hammer loop off another #toughbuilt bag, which I like to wear on my left side anyway, putting the hammer loop awkwardly in the front where it would hit me in the knee. After a little modification I pop riveted it to the knife holder, which alone wasnt really useful enough to me to find its way onto my belt all that often. Now I can have my hammer wherever I want it, typically on my backside, and still be able to hop in and out of the truck quickly without having to remove my belt, just clip the bags behind the seat where I've mounted a whole line of cliptech hubs. Winter League 2k23 final update! This league ended about a month ago and I finally got around to making a post about it. Sorry #instagram fam, but here’s another #latepost Larry. For the final week of the 6-week league, the course was at @cdaresortgolf on the @aboutgolfsims played at the @swingcenter209. The course seemed pretty tough but as I got a feel for it, it felt actually easier as the round went on. Now that’s not to say I had an easy time playing, cuz the greens were sliding! I mean for the finale of the league, difficult pin locations were expected. But sheeeesh, I had sliding putts nearly each hole. In the end, I shot an 8️⃣4️⃣, phenomenal in my opinion. Just not enough juice in the end. But I finished 2nd place in the net portion of the handicapped league! It was a definite fun experience and I had a blast! Even if I let my emotions and competitiveness get the best of me at times, it definitely was worth it! DAY-AFTER-XMAS GOLF ⛳️ ❄️ #latepost new course…semi-high score lol My buddy @par_amigos invited me out to play some g with his friend @danielmontanez__ out at @mickegrovegolflinks in Lodi, CA. This has been some time in the making as I’ve been meaning to make it out to this course for a while and finally seized my opportunity! It was a cool design and fairly open play. Much like NYD golf, I was truly smacking my 3-wood. I hit my driver pretty good too just a couple of times I hit it too good where it crept into the water hazard. I also had another tough time putting. Couldn’t really get a gauge on the greens; I mean I had 7 three-putts. Those won’t help the scorecard in the end and that’s why I ended up with a 9️⃣5️⃣ as my score. Luis was pelting his driver all day: it was truly remarkable. And of course Danny’s game is admirable cuz he’s so good. But hey I’ll take breaking 100 at new course anytime, especially with good company! Until the next one… . . . GOLF FAMILY OUTING! ⛳️ #latepost #storytime so it was a couple of days ago but this was my last round of golf for the calendar year of 2023! @mndaplzz and I played some golf with her dad, Frank, my father in law over at @escalongolf New Year’s Eve. If you’ve paid attention the last couple of years, Amanda and I have kind of made golfing on NYE or NYD a “tradition.” Or at least in my mind! But hey more about the golf…I played okay. There are some severe differences in distances that I’m not that accustomed to. I know I know… what a pathetic excuse; I’m human! NEW YEAR, NEW GOLF JOURNEY! Probably one of more accurate rounds at Creekside as I ended up with a 9️⃣0️⃣! Ryan almost had a hole in one on hole 12 but as we got closer it was more like 7 feet from the hole. Props to him since he sank his birdie putt still! Blake was pummeling his drives all day and putted pretty good thanks to his #scottycameron putter!
