MWE held its 34th practice session yesterday in Meguro-ku, Tokyo. It was a short practice session, but we gave it our all, especially the trumpet players! Today, two members of MWE also participated in the Shanghai Brassband Japan Chapter concert in Koto-ku, Tokyo. Some members from MWE came to listen to the performance and brought flyers to put inside their concert programs. It was a very beautiful concert and hopefully some of the audience will attend ours as well. We're off next week for the Golden Week holidays, but will resume having practice on May 11th. Ine no Yunaya, the "Venice of Japan". Located in Northern Kyoto, it is a place I had been wanting to go for a long time, and I was not disappointed at all. On the contrary, I fell in love with it! Although it is now a place that is becoming more and more touristy, it is actually a traditional fishing village. Its great particularity is its wooden houses by the sea. Generally, the first floor is used as a warehouse and as a place to "park" the fishing boats. A small ramp allows these boats to go out to sea directly from the house. The upper floors are where people live. One of the things that surprised me the most is that the village basically consists of only one street! A very, very long street on a small flat area between the mountains and the sea. JJ and Hoomum visited a dog event in #Ebina exploring some dog treats and checking out our favourite #kentii but the booth was too crowded lol and we easily gave up 🙂 After that, we visited a fresh fish meal restaurant nearby and that place was AWESOME. ／ 4/20（土）OPEN ENGLISHの様子 ＼ ワイワイサークルで今月はプロジェクターを使って花見をしました！いつものように自己紹介をしてから、ボールを使ってボキャブラリーレース をしました。その後は、おやつや飲み物を楽しみながらフリートークをしました。 色々な背景を持つ人たちと出会えるのは素晴らしいことです。 インドネシアやベトナム出身の人たちもいました。日本人のメンバーの中には、海外で育った人もいれば、沖縄で生まれ育ち、岐阜に専門学校へ通うために来た人もいますし、ワーキングホリデーで別の国に行くことを考えている人もいます。人についてもっと知り、英語で素晴らしい会話ができるのはいつも楽しいです。 -- We had Hanami (flower-viewing) this month at Wai Wai Circle, using a projector! As usual, we started with self-introductions and then played a vocabulary race using a ball. Afterward, we enjoyed a free conversation while having our snacks and drinks. It's amazing to meet people from such diverse backgrounds. We had people from Indonesia and Vietnam. Some Japanese members were raised abroad for a while, some were born and raised in Okinawa before moving to Gifu to study, and some are planning a working holiday in another country. Sakura ‘24 - ostatni post W tym roku udało mi się zobaczyć sporo pięknych sakur, ale nie miałam czasu, żeby na spokojnie wyjść z aparatem i je dobrze uchwycić… Dlatego zdjęcia są może takie sobie, ale i tak chciałam je tu zostawić na pamiątkę. Na zdjęciach jest całkiem spory park, który znalazłam przypadkowo na google maps szukając miejsc na spacery z dzieckiem. Pierwszy raz byłam tam latem, albo jesienią, ale zauważyłam, że na około stawu rosną drzewa wiśni, więc wiedziałam, że wiosną też muszę się wybrać. Nie wiem czemu, ale w tym parku sakury kwitły troszkę później, więc jak koło mnie już dużo płatków opadło, tak w tym parku jeszcze bardzo dobrze się trzymały. Jednocześnie kwitły już inne odmiany sakury oraz wielkie drzewo wiśni płaczącej shidare-zakura (枝垂れ桜).
