We were greeted by a 🌈 right as we arrived. 🙌 The campground has large semi-private to private sites that offer both water & electricity as well as a fire ring, grill, & picnic table. The facilities are both modern & clean. There are even washers & dryers on site. It is an easy walk from the campground to access Rainbow River for kayaking, taking out a SUP, fishing, and picnicking. Most campsites have a trail that leads to Rainbow River right from the site. There's an amphitheater, covered picnic areas, and a tram to take you to the tubing area on the river. Rainbow Springs State Park campground is very popular, so you will likely need to book fairly far in advance to snag one of their beautiful campsites. We had a blast! 🎉 We were educated during their nature show about box turtles, gopher tortoise, alligators, snakes, black bears, Florida panthers, bobcats, and more! We hopped on the train to tour the wetlands and Pioneer Island. We finished up our time with a boat tour through the Seminole Indian waterways where we learned about native plants and wildlife. I recently got back from a trip home to Goa. Most of you already know that I’m from India. While I was there, I spent time in the garden, went to the beach, went to the market, did errands - mostly things I do here in Everett already. It made a huge difference doing them in warmer weather. My mood was better but I also got tired faster. It’s very normal for us to rest or take an afternoon siesta after lunch. So that’s what I did. I say all this because we had a first day of warm weather here in a long time. I think if i hadn’t gone to India, I would’ve been much more excited. But it was a fairly normal day for me. When someone points a camera at me, my first reaction used to be to make a funny face. My body would tense up and the only release was humour. I kind of understand how that all feels now so I’m able to give a smile. It’s also a big reason why I ask families to look at each other. Not to say they don’t have beautiful smiles but if they happen to be camera shy, that split second where they’re not looking at me, gets me some sweet smiles when they finally turn back to camera. This is not some scientific method so I have no way of proving it. Last year, while thinking about 2024, I was wondering if those who follow me here or who have booked me in the past know the value of having me as their photographer. 🌅 3-nights of phenomenal sunsets. ✨ This is one of our favorite reasons to camp at the Fort Clinch Amelia River Campground. Although we don't get to camp there ourselves too often, we are always thankful when we get to deliver campers a little later in the day so we get a glimpse of the sunset. **Bonus, we caught the fireworks riverside, too! 🎇 🚶♀️Our family enjoyed our down time the past few days....and we even were able to explore a few of the hiking trails we hadn't had time for in the past.
