Just after I finished setting the camper up it started to sprinkle a little so we headed out. On our way home, we saw four rainbows. 🌈🌈🌈🌈 We even drove through one....that's right....we drove through a rainbow! 🌈 As we drove through the canopy of trees, there was a perfect break in the canopy, and a rainbow was shining through right over the road.🤯 My daughter and I both screeched from excitement as I slowly stopped and backed up. Our Beach Queen just spent 2 weeks at Fort Clinch State Park at the Amelia River Campground. Our guests own an RV but did not want to tow it over 8 hours. We have guests on a 2-week stay that had some maintenance scheduled today....adventuring afterwards with my favorite little guy for a few minutes was definitely the highlight of my day! 🙌 On our way back to the campground we saw a few deer! It was a beautiful day to explore Fort Clinch State Park after I delivered and set up our Sea Turtle today. The deer were out a good bit, and I even got to see a few fawns. The Amelia River Campground has a trail that leads to the west inlet. It is beautiful. On your way out to the inlet, make sure to check out the chart Fort Clinch has to help identify shells, coastal birds, and more. It's a great trail for exercise, views of the fort, shelling, and fishing. Fort Clinch State Park is really such a peaceful place and not often overcrowded. 🧜♀️We delivered our Beach Queen to the Fort Clinch State Park Amelia River Campground for a family from Georgia. Although this time of year can be a bit colder, there is still plenty to do inside the park and the Fernandina area. You can go hiking 🥾, biking 🚲, shelling 🐚, keep an eye out for marine life 🐬🦀 and coastal birds, explore the fort, go star gazing 🔭, go fishing 🎣, explore Egan's Creek Greenway, check out the Amelia Island Lighthouse, and more! Our guests were also interested in the launch of the Falcon Heavy which ended up launching while they were in town so they even got to experience it beachside! 🚀💫. Decided to see if we could get into Fort Clinch State Park by Amelia Island Fl, on our way home. Were able to book a nice big site about half a block from the water. It was sunny and a little chilly but not freezing. 👍 This is a keeper for us. Great bike paths that go right into downtown Fernandina Beach with all of its cool shops and restaurants, huge sites with privacy and laundry!! We were talking with some folks there and they said they book 6-8 months in advance!! I can see why. Final campfire for this trip. This site at Fort Clinch State Park's Amelia River Campground is a popular site for our Beach Bum. At only 18ft enclosed (26 ft with beds open), it's a great camper for sites with size restrictions. I promise you, it lives bigger than it looks. It has a dedicated sofa (bed conversion), 4 person dinette (bed conversion), 2 QUEEN BEDS, a full kitchen with a refrigerator and dedicated freezer as well as an OVEN, and a FULL bathroom. Whether you are planning for time at Fort Clinch, another FL State Park, a county campground, or private campground, we have a variety of options to fit your needs! My favorite parts about camping.... peacefulness, disconnecting through nature, and less rushing around. Fort Clinch is definitely a worthy place for all of that! We picked up our Sea Turtle from the Fort Clinch State Park Amelia River Campground. We set it up for a family of 8 who wanted a quick staycation before the new school year started! They had some gorgeous camping weather, too. Fort Clinch is great during the summer because you can spend your days cooling off beach side. Once it cools down, walks on the Amelia River coastline are great for watching for 🐬🐬🐬, 🦐 and sailboats, and 🐚🐚🐚. There are often horseshoe crabs, a variety of coastal birds, armadillos, and deer, too! There are places to sit and rest to watch the sunset over the river, and even tie a hammock up if you like. A few really nice things about Fernandina are easy access to the coastal areas, and awesome community parks. This lookout point at Egan's Creek Greenway is a nice place to stop to learn a little about the local ecosystem, including native plants and coastal birds. There was even an awesome bird book left behind to help with identifying, which I feel like fits right in with Fernandina's charm. Egan's Creek Park is a great park to take kids to explore the park and creek, fish, play on the unique playground, kick around the soccer ball, and adults can work out on the outdoor equipment set up in stations with shade. All this is less than a mile from Fort Clinch State Park, where there is a riverside and beachside campground.
