Each of its four wings can move independently in various directions and motions, and apply all that for various modes of flight. It can reach speeds of 30 mph. With that plus the most advanced systems of observation in the insect world, dragonflies are the most successful predator in nature, with a success rate of 98%. My family had dinner at the suspended restaurant in the Theme Building one night after it opened in the center of LAX. We had recently been to the Seattle World’s Fair where we dined in the Space Needle. Wowza - extremely high up in the air and the circular restaurant revolved at 1 RPH, great views and drama for ten year old me. Dinner at the Theme Building paled in comparison. But I have always loved the structure (that I have seen so often!) by Paul R. Williams, William Pereira, Charles Luckman, Welton Becket and Gin D.
