Our puppies had a wonderful opportunity to visit a clinic for patients with Aphasia post-stroke at Buffalo State University today. Aphasia is a communication disorder that results from damage to the brain, typically caused by stroke, injury, or neurodegenerative disease. It affects an individual's ability to understand, speak, read, and write language, making it difficult to express thoughts, needs, and ideas. Thank you to Anita Senthinathan, Puppy Sitter and raiser of Everley, who is a professor at the University and invited our pups on campus to share some puppy love. We did it!!! We sold our house and we’ve started our next chapter! It’s been a crazy ride the last few weeks and we are so grateful to everyone that has wished us luck, checked in on us, and helped us out. There is one person in particular who has just been a superstar, they know who they are 🙈. A few weeks ago we put out a post that said how much trouble we were having finding a rental that accepted dogs, this person went out of their way to help us and ultimately they found us somewhere to live! And not just anywhere but a beautiful converted barn on 90 acres - could we be luckier?! Their family has also helped us moved in and really shown us what hospitality means, there are some genuinely good and wonderful people out there 😭🙏 So this is partly a thank you post, to everyone who has helped us so far 🙏 you mean so much to us! . But I’m also mindful that while I’m in this bubble of crazy, everyone is dealing with the highs and lows of life. She is a pit bull type dog who is always ready for adventure! If you're seeking an energetic, goofy, and playful companion, Saki is your match! Don't miss out on this bundle of joy! 💜 Medical Information: Saki came to us with a heart murmur and has been diagnosed with a congenital (born with) heart condition called subaortic stenosis, which is not surgically fixable. This condition causes the heart to work harder than normal which results in a thickening of the heart muscle. Saki currently takes medication which can help protect her heart, but she will need a recheck with a cardiologist when she is one year old to reevaluate her disease and she will need regular ongoing cardiology visits as indicated by her veterinarian. It is important that Saki be on a diet that is balanced appropriately (WSAVA approved).
