Earlier today, I attended the audio premiere of two compositions by a musical goliath, composer, and friend, Louis Dilegame, at Next Phase Sound Studio @nextphasestudio in Farmingdale, NY. These were copies of the full scores to read while listening. What a wonderful experience and fantastic compositions! Our connection stretches all the way back to our days in college (2007 onwards) at C.W. Post University (known as LIU Post @liupost nowadays). These two compositions are so well composed, orchestrated, and every meticulous detail was taken into account with such great care. The diversity, influence, and relaxation regarding not such strict structure/formulaic boundaries. Both contain such wonderful experiences that they definitely deserve to be commissioned and more. Congratulations, Louis! It was a pleasure to not only attend this premiere today but for you to have created and shared these compositions with us. You continue to exude such talent, dedication, and passion for the language that is music. Unsere Leuchttürme im Ruhrpott Als Kind in der 3. Generation Bergbau ist es für mich ein „Muss“ Bergbaubilder zu posten. Auf der Collage ist in der Mitte der Schacht der Schächte Zollverein 12, links davon das Bergwerk Prosper Haniel, wo im Dezember 2018 der Bergbau endete und rechts davon das Bergwest West. Das Geleucht ist eine Landmarke auf der Halde Rheinpreussen in Moers. Diesmal habe ich den begnadeten @bearded_knight_ um Erlaubnis gefragt, eines seiner Bilder bearbeiten zu dürfen. Lieben Dank an @nordlichtknipse für die Erlaubnis. Inspiriert wurde ich durch die Geschichte, die hinter dem Original steckt; "14. April 1524: Es geht also wieder los. Vor ein paar Tagen war der Werbeoffizier in der Stadt unterwegs. Ich schrieb mich kurzer Hand ein um mich dem Regiment anzuschließen. Nun, kurz bevor es losgeht frage ich mich, ob ich bereit bin für das, was mir und den Anderen bevorsteht. Ich werde erfahrener, ja. Doch mit dem Alter werde ich auch langsamer und diese jungen Knechte von nicht einmal 18 Wintern mögen in diesem Punkt einen Vorteil haben. Doch während sie sich vor Angst bei ihrer ersten Schlacht in ihre Hosen machen beim Lärm der Büchsen und Kanonen werde ich die nach Schießpulver riechende Luft einsaugen und wissen, ich bin wieder wo ich hingehöre. Next weekend, I’m releasing a Single called ‘Knepp Dawn’, in collaboration with the sculptor and field recordist Hazel Reeves @hazelreevessculptor Knepp has seen extraordinary increases in wildlife since rewilding began. Extremely rare species such as turtle doves, nightingales, peregrine falcons and purple emperor butterflies are now breeding here. Populations of more common species are rocketing. I feel fortunate to have visited Knepp at dawn. 유럽에서 쓰는 유럽출장기 #2-3 스웨덴에 도착했다. 숙소 두 개를 예약했는데, 첫번째는 선상호스텔이다. 배에서 숙박을 하는 것이다. 끊임없이 흔들흔들 거리긴 하지만, 이만한 여행의 묘미를 느낄 수 있는 곳도 없다. 첫날부터 한국 일본 다음으로 사랑하는 나라 이탈리아에서 온 친구들을 만났다. 이탈리아, 한국, 일본의 문화와 음식 등에 대해 얘기하면서 금방 친해졌다. 일이 끝난 저녁에는 밖에도 놀러다니고 함께 요리도 만들어먹었다. 진짜 이탈리아 까르보나라를 만들어준다고 해서 먹어봤다. 나도 답으로 스테이크와 파스타를 만들어주었다. ‘명예 이탈리아인’으로 인정받았다 ^^ May, Giulia!!
