Took a little road trip up to @buschgardensva along with Andrew from @theparkrovers yesterday to attend the last night of Christmas Town! Rode all available rides including 3 rides on Pantheon, 1 on Darkoaster (which makes two total), 1 on InvadR, 1 on Alpengeist and 1 on Verbolten. Pantheon's backwards ejector airtime still feels like it's going to eject us into outer space! Another RMC hybrid in the books. Joker at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom! We heard that this one of the lower-tier, weaker RMCs. We do not think so! It's slower paced than the newer hybrids such as Iron Gwazi, Steel Vengeance, Iron Rattler, Arieforce One, etc. I really enjoyed it and I love the hangtime in the zero-G roll towards the end! It doesn't disappoint in my opinion. It is one of the older hybrid coasters, so it's good for what it was. Now, I'm waiting for Twisted Colossus to change that opinion when we ride it in the fall! In just over 24 hours, our long-awaited 10-day getaway vacation to four parks will FINALLY begin!! We've made it to Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier, our second park of the Texas coaster tour!!! Day 1, Park 2. Unfortunately, this didn't go according to plan. We are reviewing each and every park individually that we visited on our East Coast Coaster Tour in PA via Instagram and Facebook. This park is Knoebels Amusement Resort in Elysburg, PA. We have to say that we really enjoyed this little park a lot. We love the classic carnival feel with the amusement park twist and Knoebels was no exception! It felt like an upscale Waldameer but downscale Holiday World. Phoenix is hands down the best coaster there and it is a FLOATER AIRTIME MACHINE. The Gliders were the BEST gliders we've ever ridden!! You go up so high and almost hit the trees! Do not forget to ride them when you're there. Impulse was our second favorite at the park tied with Twister. Unfortunately, we didn't get to do Flying Turns because it was down due to shortstaffing. Apparently, they need seven employees to operate it. Next time! We were very impressed with Knoebels and we absolutely loved the carnival atmosphere charm! This is the tallest roller coaster in the world, Kingda Ka. We also love the heart pumping station music they play as it gets you pumped to ride the tallest roller coaster in the world at 456 ft. Honestly, it's not as great as Top Thrill Dragster because the launch is rougher and the terrible restraints but with TTD being closed this year and Kingda Ka being open, it really fills that missing void!!! We still think that 128mph launch is a rush! Steel Force and Talon at Dorney Park are such underrated coasters. It seems that everyone talks about Phantom's Revenge and Magnum XL-200, Banshee, Raptor and Montu but not about Steel Force and Talon. These two are probably my two favorites a long with the other two hypers and B&M inverts we mentioned. We absolutely loved this coaster! Steel Force may not be the most forceful or intense but the airtime is wonderful and it's fun flying over the Lehigh Valley. The first half is very gentle but the second half is more aggressive and Magnum like! This coaster is sooooo much fun!! With Talon, it's so intense but it's sooooo quiet. That has to be the quietest B&M invert we have ever ridden. Today, we visited Six Flags Great Adventure (5th park of the epic trip) for our second visit with the first being in October 2020. It was our first time EVER riding Jersey Devil, the new for 2021 RMC single rail raptor coaster and it's also our first one to ride! It was AWESOME!! We actually prefer the front more than the back and the ejector airtime is nuts in the front. We think it is way better than it looked on YouTube. We rode it six times today without getting off and more rides coming on Friday!!!! We also rode the world's tallest roller coaster, Kingda Ka in the front row at 128mph!!! It was epic and more rides to come! We picked up the Dark Knight and the Lil Jersey Devil coaster so we are now at 233 coaster credits! El Toro after the retrack is a lot better now!! It was a fun day!! Off to Dorney and Knoebels tomorrow, Hershey on Thursday, back to Great Adventure on Friday and then finishing out the trip at Six Flags America on Saturday!
