GxK Rewrite I thought about doing a Wattpad story about this, and maybe I will in the future, but for now, this is the general idea. I liked GxK, I really did, and I want to see more Monsterverse, but I feel like certain things could’ve been changed or updated. I’m a little late with this, but I finally got the Godzilla Ultima Pop! With heat ray. I really like the box design on this guy but I wish there was a little more in the line, like a rodan or one of every Godzilla’s different forms. Looking at the pop itself, the design and mold is pretty well done. He is more grey than black and his tail isn’t long enough, but other than that funko did pretty well with this guy, especially the dorsal plates and their blue color. The atomic breath piece itself is also pretty good, however it’s the same breath piece the 2021 and 2024 pops had, with just the addition of the rings. It doesn’t look bad, but I wish there was a little more of a difference with this heat ray accessory. I won’t complain too much since at least we get a breath piece (looking at you SHMA!). Overall, funko did a good job on this lil guy. Part 2 (of my GxK review) Spoiler warning. I do like how the movie ended somewhat. While I feel it was rushed, I do enjoy that Kong sort of ended up at the end of a big arc. He’s king now, has a kid, and has Shimo to coexist with (which I still hope is going to be something like Godzilla’s coexistence with Mothra). It feels like Kong could be missing from the movies for a while and we would all be fine with that. We could get more arcs for Godzilla. Also, Suko and Mothra were both great. I honestly was more excited for Mothra, but Suko was even better then I thought. I assumed he was just going to be groveling at Kong’s feet and be the yellow bellied side kick that learns from kong and slowly grows over the film, but instead, he was better then that. I feel like it’s a overlooked part, but I absolutely love when Suko is about to be dragged over a ledge by another kong, but he is able to escape by kicking him in the face in the same exact way Kong does earlier in the film to another. I also love when he shows up to the fight with the axe. Besides being an goat during the zero g fight, and the funny moment where she stops KONG and Godzilla from fighting, Mothra doesn’t get that many moments, which I find upsetting. I was hoping she and Godzilla were going to be able to go off into the sunset at the end. Shimo was good, but I felt like theere was too many moments where she struggled against commands. I know she was being used against her will, but I wish she fought a bit more freely. Scar king was cool. His design was top notch, his stances were top notch, he was top notch. However, two problems. One, I feel like his motives were unclear. The movie says that he wanted to kill off humans, but why? Two, he felt way less fast in the final fight. I don’t know why, but he did not feel like he did when him and king first tussled. Overall, the film was good, and I still wanna see it again. I wish there was more of Godzilla and a longer epilogue, but I did like it. I hope legendary listens to criticism on this one and updates their next films. Finally got the main monsters from Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, in pop! form. I’ll start with Godzilla. I think he was done the best out of the 4. His sculpt is great, the dorsal plates are well done, and he comes with an atomic breath piece! My only complaint is that he doesn’t have the dorsal plates on his elbows. Up next is Kong. Kong is probably my least favorite just because of how simple he is. He is the exact same mold as the vs Kong figure, with a slightly different color and maybe a few more scratches. The addition of the beast glove is cool, but not cool enough for him to be my favorite. I also wish they made his eyes orange instead of black. Moving on, we got Skar King! He looks better than Kong imo (probably because he is new). His eyes are a nice foggy blue and he has his whip around his torso. Would have been cool to have as a separate piece but oh well. Finally, we have Shimo. Shimo was done dirty. Her pop is smaller than Godzilla and she has purple spikes and a purple ice breath instead of a frosty blue. Other than that, her sculpt is really good and so is her frost breath. Part 1 Starting off with something a bit controversial, and a little late to the party might I add, is my personal review of GxK. Spoiler Warning, by the way. 7/10 First off, the amount of action was phenomenal. There was so many fight scenes. There was so many hard hits to endure. There was so many punishing blows. Mix that with the fast paced visuals, the amazing animation, the awesome character design, and the multitude of sets and scenes and you have a movie that is genuinely beautiful to look at and intriguing to view. The story is told expertly, relying more on visuals and facial expressions to convey what’s happening then ever before, which is great for a kaiju movie. However, when some light laughs are needed, and some extra exposition, the humans are brought in to carry what the monsters can’t, and I’m fine with that. The problems I have really come from the pacing. The beginning and middle of the movie are allowed an incredible amount of time to develop and grow, and while this is good, it leaves the ending fights squabbling for time. GvK is what I consider a standard Monsterverse movie, and it’s final fights are great. They have good momentum, plenty of memorable moments, and a spectacular final kill with Kong ripping off Mecha Godzilla’s head. Meanwhile, GvK has a final fight that feels like it’s just there to just fill the absence of a final fight the movie had. I feel like the kaijus are forced into a very small location, and this is because of how crazy the fight beforehand was. Before the final fight, it was a battlefield with team GxK vs the entirety of Scar king’s army. It was zero g, gave them a lot of room, and provided us some of the only footage of Godzilla we have in hollow earth. That’s another thing, Godzilla. He was in the movie a good amount, but he didn’t really feel like anything more then the muscle to help kong, so it feels more like a Kong movie with Godzilla featured. “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire” (2024) Directed by Adam Wingard Review: This movie was so much fun, but if I’m being honest I enjoyed Godzilla vs Kong a little more. Mecha Godzilla was so much better than Scar King and the ending first with Kong first getting his ax was awesome. This movie did have way less of the annoying human story which is great. I came to this movie to see big monkey punch and be punched and that is what happened. The human story in this less but still isn’t great with a lot of annoying characters and very convenient skills and tech being available for them. I do really like the character of Jai, her having a deep connection with all the animals and the other world gives something to the human story though it isn’t much it is something. 『ゴジラxコング 新たなる帝国 (2024)』【75/100点:一言メモ→ コングxチビ太】 あくまで日本だけらしいんですが、ハリウッド版ゴジラと『ゴジラ-1.0』が同時期上映になっているという邦画史では初の現状が起きているらしく、そんなワケで嫌でもマイゴジと見比べちゃうんですが、前作『ゴジラVSコング』に引き続き人間側のドラマは「バカにしてんのか」レベルで、陳腐で退屈なものの、コングとチビコングの友情ストーリーが結構面白かったです。もっと言うとゴジラはおそらく本作に出なくても成立したんじゃないか、という根本的な欠点に気がついてしまうんですが、今年でゴジラが70周年なので、出さざるを得なかったんだろうなという大人の事情も察してしまいます。 話は髑髏島から地下世界に定住したコングくんが右往左往の後に、“スカーコング”という悪コングが支配するコング族を見つけて、チビコングと共にコング族の解放に向けて動く、というよくあるハリウッド映画的な話。こう書くとやっぱり「ゴジラいる？」ってなっちゃうんですが、まあ今回のゴジラは破壊要員ってことで思い切り脇役です。 前述の通り、人間側の話は結構退屈で、おまけに説明セリフばっかりで取ってつけた感がすごいです。一方でコングとチビコングの話はセリフも一切無いのに結構面白いという謎現象が起きているので、これもういっそのこと人間いらないんじゃないか論まで思ってしまいました。 チビコングがやたら可愛いのも結構ツボで、チビなりにクソガキ感が溢れ出ているのもキャラが立っており、コングの相棒としては結構良いポジションに収まっていたと思います。コングもコングで本作でシャワーシーン(？)が2回、虫歯治療シーンがあったりと、謎描写の数々のお陰で休日の中年のような哀愁も面白く、大塚明夫さんの吹替を付けてあげたいくらいの渋さが醸し出してました。 「僕、70周年なので来ちゃいました」感が終始あったゴジラさんには特に感想はないんですが、最後の最後で最強ぶりも見せつけて良いとこ全部持っていく荒技を披露していきました。なので、世間に一定数居るだろうゴジラファンは全然満足しなそうな構成になっているものの、振り切ったやり過ぎ描写のオンパレードには個人的に結構面白かったです。 人間ドラマを全部カットしてコングのお話だけで2時間やってくれたらもっと面白かったのは間違いないですけど、そんなコト言ったら大コケしていたと思うのでまあしゃあないですね。もう一度言いますが、本作のゴジラ、脇役です。 #映画 #映画レビュー #映画好きな人と繋がりたい #映画鑑賞 #おすすめ映画 #映画好き #GodzillaXKong #ゴジラｘコング #GodzillaxKongTheNewEmpire #RebeccaHall #DanStevens #BrianTyreeHenry #KayleeHottle #Godzilla #Kong #ゴジラ #コメディ #アクション #怪獣 #movie #movielovers🎬

☆ 北米では驚異的な大ヒットを記録してるらしく、ついに日本でも公開された 「ゴジラ×コング 新たなる帝国」 鑑賞してきました！！ ま〜、良くも悪くも予想通りというか、“まんま”でした(笑) 「#怪獣プロレス 」っていう言葉が、いつからあるのか知りませんけど、ほんと“まんま”ですよ(笑) ゴジラもコングも全力疾走するから、これもうプロレスのロープワークやん！ていうくらいに見えるし、ゴジラなんかブレーンバスターや、ストンピング、フライングボディアタックまでやりますからね。 やってんな〜。 ストーリーの大半は、コング主体に進みますが、お仲間増やし、雑魚モンスター倒し＆装備品を揃えていってレベルアップ、休息とって回復… て、RPGか！！ やってんな〜。 そして、ネタバレもへったくれもない内容だから言っちゃいますけど、ラストバトルは ゴジラ＆コング＆モスラ連合軍vs巨大悪者猿軍団＆新怪獣シーモ の団体対抗戦となります。 まさにプロレスや！！ やってんな〜。 映画として面白いかどうかは置いといて、誰もがなんかバカバカしくて「プッ」て思わず笑っちゃう楽しい作品には、なっていると思います。 怪獣映画としては王道というか、昔の日本の怪獣映画リスペクトとしては、これが正解なのかも？ ただ、個人的に残念だったのは、どうせ地球人も地下空洞人も誰も期待してないであろう人間パート部分が、どうせつまんないから(実際つまんない)、もっと削って全体を100分くらいにまとめてほしかったのと、せっかくの怪獣達が、人間達と一緒の画面に映るシーンがほとんどないので、怪獣達の巨大さがぜんぜん伝わってこなくて、もったいないな〜という事でした。 特に巨大猿軍団は、やたら器用で俊敏だから、こいつらほんとに全長100m前後ある怪獣なのかよ？て思ってしまいました。 たぶん、 #日光猿軍団 より器用ですよ。 あんなに知能が発達していて器用なんだったら、巨大猿軍団は、シーモとかいう怪獣に乗ってないで、SUUMOで自分達の家を探しなさい。そうすれば、コングやゴジラと喧嘩しなくてもすんだのかもしんないですから。平和にいきましょう、平和に。 因みに、今作は「モンスター・ヴァース」としては5作目ですが、ハリウッド版ゴジラと、キングコングの共演作としては3部作予定で、今作がその2作目になるようです。まぁ、あんだけメガヒットしてりゃ、もうしばらく続きそうですけどね。もうハリウッド版ゴジラは、日本のオリジナルゴジラとは違うキャラクターや世界観が確立されたと思うんで、盛り上がるんなら、どんどんやってくれ！って感じです。 怪獣映画は映画というより、お祭りですよ♪ てなわけで、この大怪獣プロレスならぬ、大怪獣お祭りは劇場の大画面で見るべき作品だと思いますので、ぜひ、劇場に足を運びましょう♪ #映画 #怪獣映画 #ゴジラコング新たなる帝国 #GodzillaKongTheNewEmpire #モンスターヴァース #MonsterVerse #アダムウィンガード #レベッカホール #ブライアンタイリーヘンリー #ダンスティーヴンス #カイリーホットル #ファラチェン #ゴジラ #Godzilla #コング #キングコング #Kong #KingKong #モスラ #Mothra #スカーキング #シーモ #怪獣 #TOHOシネマズ新宿 #IMAX

Think about it! It’s interesting how both Godzilla from Godzilla: Minus One and Mothra from Godzilla X Kong are technically immortal! If you remember the ending from Godzilla: Minus One you would remember seeing Godzilla rapidly self-healing itself and a giant beating heart underwater at the location Godzilla from Godzilla: Minus One was killed which, of course, means that he would only be reborn again!
