Being the last mega looper left in the U.S, Viper towers over the magic mountain skyline. It’s also pretty cool seeing an old arrow and a new arrow right next to each other. I consider Viper to be super underrated. It’s not too rough or shaky and actually gives some decent positive G’s. The inversions are all super cool too and have some type of intensity to it. The second half after the mid course is really cool too, with the decent hangtime you get in the second half. I love viper and I’m happy it’s still around. What’s your thoughts on Viper? Especially this year, Goldie has been running very well and i haven’t gotten a bad ride so far. Back row gives the best experience, but I do need to try out row 4 because @coaster.stalls says it gives some awesome airtime too. It does need a little bit of titan track to help smoothen it out a bit more, but the little roughness it has does add to the experience. What’s your thoughts on Gold Striker? Impulse is a weird little coaster. I’m not the first to say that it doesn’t really fit in at a park like Knoebels. In a place that’s well known for its old-school aesthetic and classic rides, a modern, steel, inverting coaster with a vertical lift doesn’t exactly fit the vibe. With that said, despite being an odd choice for Knoebels, it’s a fun ride in its own right! I found it to be pretty smooth and easily re-rideable. With the new paint it received this year, Impulse really stands out as you’re driving into the park. It’s not my favorite coaster in the park, but I do enjoy rides on Impulse. I’m a bit late to the party, but yesterday was Steel Vengeance’s 6th birthday! Last year, I got 3 awesome rides on Steel Vengeance, with 2 in the back, and 1 in the front. And for me, I loved SteVe in both the front and back, though I do prefer the back a little more. The ejector airtime in the back especially is very sustained in the first half and rapid fire in the second half. It especially ran very well and I didn’t feel much moments when the train slowed down. My first ride did trim a little bit, but the mid course brakes weren’t hitting hard on my 3 rides. I’m still surprised even today that I managed to ride Steel Vengeance and it comfortably sits as my number 1 overall coaster. What’s your thoughts on Steel Vengeance? Lagoon has been a bucket list amusement park for me for over 25 years. Back in the mid 1990s, my dad attended a business trip at Snowbird in Utah so my mom, my brother and I joined him on the trip for a family vacation. We saw the famous salt lake and visited the Mormon headquarters in downtown Salt Lake City but skipped Lagoon. I don't remember the exact story but I recall something about misplacing a sweatshirt that ended up being left in the hotel room so as a result, I didn't get to go to Lagoon. I've been wanting to go ever since but Salt Lake City wasn't on the top of my list of places I wanted to visit. With Cedar Point’s opening day yesterday, it made me look back at my visit to the park last year in August and remind me just how much fun I had at the park on my visit. Almost every ride was open, and running 2 trains at least, and I barely had to wait in super long lines. Plus, a lot of the coasters at the park really surprised me and raised my expectations, especially this renovated B&M floorless. Rougarou is very underrated, and the first half with some of its elements have some decent intensity to it. It’s not my favorite floorless coaster, but I did enjoy it. Back to Kennywood for some surprising news: I’ve been told that Phantom is closed all weekend! This is obviously concerning, but you might not want to freak out too much. I’ve heard this is for a scheduled repair, as well as to get green train back on the track.
