LEGO SET REVIEW 76424: Flying Ford Anglia Retail Price: $14.99/14.99€ Build: This is a splendid build and actually varies from its predecessors with a few techniques as well as parts. This one feels and looks more sleek taking advantage of newer smallish parts like the new slope piece to get the fins on the back. The flat roof is nice and easily removed. The interior unfortunately only fits 2 short leg figures and the steering wheel looks goofy, though the stickered panel looks good. You can also fit Hedwig behind the figures. The baggage area is spacious and can fit Scabbers alongside the suitcase. Overall a decent car build. Figures: Both Ron and Harry sport new torso prints which do look good, otherwise nothing special. Scabbers and Hedwig are nice inclusions but nothing new. Final verdict: 8/10, definitely a good update for a nice price with 2 exclusive figures. Highly recommend this for parts alone though. LEGO SET REVIEW 76428: Hagrid’s Hut: An Unexpected Visit Retail Price: $74.99/74.99€ Builds: Wow, this is definitely the best hut build we’ve gotten. All around it looks great and it’s fully enclosed unlike the 2019 version. This is based on its early appearance this missing the 2nd hut area. Removing the nice looking roof is easy and it locks the walls together which is extra nice. I do like the chimney build with simulated smoke. The sand and olive green parts add a lot. Interior looks nice and you can open up the walls for easy access and it’s full of nice builds for furniture. The entrance has a nice cozy seat for Hagrid that fits him easily as well as a normal figure can be seated easily. The mat underneath was a nice build. The cabinet looks nice and I like its sticker for detail. You have a barrel to fit Hagrid’s umbrella as well. The right side has a table and a chair which does look fine. I do pike the cabinet build here as well featuring a hidden wizard’s portrait. There’s an egg shell for Norbert as well. The left side has a nice looking fireplace with some nicely printed mittens and another nice chair build. The cabinet here looks good too. You can put Norbert in front of the fireplace in the cauldron. Overall some nice interior designs. Outside you got clip add-ons for some pumpkins and a tree stump. They can easily be switched and do look fine. You can also add the forbidden forest sets to these clips easily which is a neat concept. The dog’s den is a nice inclusion but really doesn’t do anything. Figures/creatures: Fang is finally here and it’s a solid piece with a nice print, though he should’ve been more grey but happy to have him. Norbert is a fantastic baby dragon piece, one of my favorite recent creature pieces introduced. Hagrid is a nice new and exclusive variant. The apron print looks superb. The trio all sports new and exclusive torsos. They all look good and I appreciate new prints. Draco is nothing new but a nice inclusion to have. Final verdict: 9/10, super good model and playset. LEGO SET REVIEW 76279: Spider-Man Race Car & Venom Green Goblin Retail Price: $34.99/29.99€ Builds: Yes, we all know he doesn’t a car, but it’s fir kids and it’s a well built model. I really like its shapes and the printed elements look superb. The windscreens are new recolors and are nice to have. There are also lot of recently introduced parts that are good to have. The inside actually fits 2 figures as well as Gwen’s skateboard which is really nice. The 2 stud shooters are integrated nicely and good for play and the back looks really nice with those exhausts. The Goblin Glider is fully venomized which looks really cool with the organic looking spikes on the wings. The red studs for the stud shooters are also a nice detail to feel more organic. Figures: It’s a shame that only 1 figure is exclusive. Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider are unchanged abd nothing too exciting but have some neat details. Their web accessories are also really cool. Venomized Goblin is a fun variant to own but not a must have. I really like his exclusive head prints and the torso is cool. A banana peel is also included for some reason but I don’t mind it. Final verdict: 6.5/10, definitely targeted for kids, it’s a decent set but not a must have. I recommend it if you want the Green Goblin variant and you find the set at a decent price point! LEGO SET REVIEW 76278: Rocket’s Warbird vs. Ronan Retail price: $37.99/37.99€ Build: This one excellent build of a ship we’ve only gotten in chibi forms before. I love all the colors and shapes on this. It was fun putting together the fromt and sdding all the small wedge tiles to get some shapes on the wings. The blue thrusters look nice too with a few nice recolors used here. The cockpit fits a figure easily and you can also store Rocket’s gun in there. Other playfeatures include 2 spring-loaded shooters and 2 multi-stud shooters that are easy to access. The red striping blends well with the orange, white and dark blue colors and the trans blue cockpit gives a pleasant sight to your eyes. The ship is easy to swoosh around too. Figures: Both are exclusive for now. Rocket got a splendid and more accurate update this time. I love his gun metal torso and it’s good to see the non goggled head here. It’s great to have a Ronan again, it’s a really nice update with great details and a more accurate skin tone this time around. I wish he had his markings on the torso but I can see why they excluded it. The hood is a fine reuse without doing an all new mold for it and I appreciate the new cape here. I can see Rocket being used in the upcoming Milano and Ronan stay exclusive here. Final verdict: 9/10, A solid Infinity Saga set, but for the price a 3rd figure could’ve been included.
