❓Does the weather affect you? Yesterday was a beautiful blue sky day with rare UK temperatures reaching as high as 18 degrees. The thing about those beautiful days is everyone suddenly seems friendlier 😂 it’s like it turns a switch in people’s minds and they are more willing to be generous with their smiles. I’ve got so many friends, and myself included, that struggle with endless dark days. I bought my best friend, who lives in France, an S.A.D light and every winter she thanks me for it all over again. It’s a light that supposedly emulates the sun, so when it is grey for weeks on end you put it on around the house and it gives you the feeling of sunshine and reduces the melancholy that dark days can bring. And while that helps, it’s also about the things you can do. When I was younger I had an astrological reading done that said I would live in a castle one day 😂😂 I’m not one to put too much stock into that sort of thing, but one of my hobbies is visiting castles 🏰 Every country has its own version of them, not far from where we lived in Spain there was a castle route which over an an hour and a half’s drive there were 12 castles. Visiting these places overseas often made me wish I’d spent more time sightseeing in the UK. But the thing about the UK is that overworking is the norm. I would be doing 80 hour weeks quite often. My friends would be working all hours. There is a culture of value added to the hours you put in, your worth is what you’re giving that business. Spain surprised me in that way, their value was on a work life balance. On ensuring family time and beach time if you were near the coast. The community unit of the family was so strong. Of course this wasn’t the case with every business but for my husband’s work there; in the summer they would encourage them to start an hour earlier and finish two hours early to allow for both the heat, and often for many, some time on the beach. ☀️ ❓Is this just a sunny climes thing?
