🇬🇧HOW TO AVOID SCAMS IN MARRAKECH / save for your next trip. I really love Morocco and we truly appreciate the kindness of Moroccan people. We met such wonderful and generous people there. It was incredible. And like in every country in the world you will always meet people using scams. Here are a few tips to avoid scams in Marrakech: -1) Kindly refuse anything extra that's been brought out while you eat (unless you really want it and are ready to pay). 2) Don't take pictures of shops/people/animals without asking permission. If they give you their agreement, be aware you will need to pay something in exchange 3) If you're lost, someone will offer to help you. Either this personn will ask you money in the end or he will take you to his friend's shop. So kindly refuse his help ( unless you really need it and have money to pay ). Manu has experienced this. 4) f someone gives you a souvenir saying it's free ( it's never free). So kindly refuse the gift. Have you ever been in one of those situations ? Nous avons rencontré des personnes incroyables et généreuses au cours de notre voyage là-bas. Mais comme dans tous les pays du monde il y a certaines arnaques et voici quelques astuces pour les éviter. - Ne prend pas de photo d'animaux, de locaux, de magasins sans demander la permission. - Si tu as obtenu la permission, sache que tu devras payer ensuite. - Si tu es perdu, quelqu'un te proposera son aide et soit il te demandera de l'argent à la fin soit il t'emmènera dans le magasin d'un de ses amis ou bien aux tanneries. My career started after graduating in English Studies at the University of Beni Mellal in Morocco. I worked for 6 years as a luxury travel consultant in one of only 3 Virtuoso agencies in Morocco, designing and arranging trips for many of their upscale clients, specially National Geographic. I am grateful for this experience which provided me with many relevant contacts, as well as first-hand knowledge of the private travel industry in my country, and an understanding of the expectations of Western travelers. It also helped me develop many of the skills that later have proved themselves very useful for me working as a guide – attention to detail, vocation of service, privileged access, openness and fluency in interpersonal relations. However after all those years as a travel advisor, I started to feel trapped in an office environment, and found myself longing for more significant experiences, and a closer contact with those for whom I was designing my trips. I wanted to be on the ground, meeting travelers directly, and guiding them through the beauties of my country myself. I decided to train to become a professional guide, successfully passing my exam It’s the best decision I have made in my life.
