MINDSPINSEL PART 2/2⤵️ Ik voelde altijd al dat het systeemdenken niet zo mijn ding was.. ik match gewoon niet met die denk patronen. Vaak voelde ik mij ook wel “anders” en waren er mensen in mij omgeving die mij daar op bekritiseerde, uitlachte of mij belaagde met vragen om mij in een hoek te drijven.. Soms paste ik mij daar op aan, maar met een onderbuik gevoel van “fack jou” maar ook een mindset van “whatever🙄” Mijn realiteit is gewoon anders.. kwestie van perceptie verschil? Work has been immensely stressful for me lately. You all may know me as Marnie, the shop owner. You may associate me as "the owner of the business." As a business owner, I feel sometimes people forget that it's still a job for you, it's still work whether it's your passion or not. And my work, even as the owner of the business, has seasons where it becomes overwhelmingly hard. It's normal, as you get older and fall more into the "adult categories" for you to get a job and for your work to be stressful, but you never feel prepared or equipped for the stress part of the job. Sure you can get training for the tasks, and duties, but you don't get training for coping with stress. I talked about it with others, my parents, even my therapist. Sharing how I feel completely incapable of handling the stress when it's happening. I never get a direct answer. They say you either have two options: 1. Limit your stress, meaning take a step back or do what you can to limit your time on the stress "causers" 2. or two, if you can't eliminate instead add more help. Build a support system that can help you with the stress. When you're a single owning and operating individual and business both of those options are....challenging. I've learned there's a third option and the reason behind why there's no real explanation on how to manage work stress. 3. You just do it. You get 'er done. You make it work. You make it happen. But most importantly, you accept it. You accept that the work is hard, you accept that it's stressful....yes....but you accept that you do what you can, you accept what you can't, you accept that you do your best, and you accept the mistakes made. The best thing to combat stress is compassion. Compassion for yourself. If you can be considerate of yourself, the work at hand, and the stress you are feeling, you can find relief. In the moment, grab yourself a cup of coffee or tea. And ask yourself, how can I accept this situation and how can I be more understanding towards myself when I am stressed? Lastly, process your thoughts towards the confidence in knowing you will do what it takes to get through this and that you're doing the best you can.
