Hey, you made it! I’m celebrating life with you today! I’m so glad you’re here and have another chance at life to make better choices. Dr. Myles Munroe once said, “the richest place on earth is the graveyard.” I don’t know about you, but I don’t plan on being a treasure in the ground. I want to embrace everything that God Yahweh has planned for me while I’m alive! If you find it challenging to discover yourself or make the right choices, here are a few changes you can make to start moving in the right direction: ✨ Be sober-minded; put down the substances. You won’t be able to think clearly if your mind is foggy. If you’re trying to numb the pain of your past or present, consider seeking help from a therapist or pastor. ✨ Surround yourself with people who believe in you! In other words, get new friends, find a supportive community, and distance yourself from negativity. You may be surrounded by people going through the same things as you. I recommend joining a good Bible-based church because we believe God has a plan for all of His children! ✨ Let go of toxic social media. It’s time to fill yourself with good and intentional information. If you have to start from scratch with your social media accounts, then do it! Have a clean slate and take control of what you’re exposed to. ✨ Love yourself. You have to believe in yourself too! Get a haircut, dress nicely today, brush your hair, eat healthily, etc. It’s amazing what taking care of yourself can do. Watch how your confidence will grow! ✨ Read the Bible and talk to God. The Bible is literally a guide on how we should live and make the best out of our lives! I suggest starting with the books of wisdom like Proverbs and Ecclesiastes, then moving on to the Gospel books: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Study the way Jesus lived and let the Holy Spirit guide you! ✨ Be patient with yourself and know that you can do this, and you will make it! It might be hard if you’re doing this alone, but with the help of a healthy community and God, you will see a difference! I pray this was helpful to you today. Swimwear was without a doubt the thing I was most “in my head” about when it came to competing in Galaxy again. Last time I competed in swimwear was ten years and three kids ago, but I knew I wanted to push myself way out of my comfort zone as that’s when we grow the most. Although I had a little stumble, I felt so good in my swimwear round, and was delighted to take away best in swimwear as well as other awards. For me it was also a massive achievement as I set out to show other women, wether they’re a mother or not, that our value in pageants isn’t limited by marital and parental status or having the best body. We all know that, especially in the UK pageantry industry, that it’s not always all about looks and body shape, but I still feel it’s different when you see someone else achieve their goals that you can see yourself in. Pleased to have spent my first appearance with 4Louis baby and child betvement charity. We spent the evening making thank you cards to give to midwives on International day of the midwife, May 5th. I also got the opportunity to speak to some of the voulenteers about the work that midwives do to support these families and how making these cards will have a positive impact on those receiving them. Thank you so much to the team at 4Louis and @daisymay053 for inviting me along to this event as a special guest from the midwifery field. 2 days to go (it’s actually one 🥲) 💜 Fave Galaxy queen? It’s sooooo hard to pick. Two of my favourites HAVE to be @daniellesmith6479 and @mrsgalaxyengland, both queens make every single woman they come across feel included, important and respected. Tomorrow I leave for Galaxy Finals! This is my second time competing in Mrs Galaxy UK, after coming 1RU last year! 👑 Before I take the grand Galaxy stage once again… it’s time to get to know a little about who I am and what makes me unique! Something I talk about often is the fact I lost 8 stone naturally, through hard work, disciple, a balanced diet and exercise. And although it’s more like 7 stone these days, I’ve still managed to stay healthy even being a curvy Queen! I’m also a country singer and songwriter! I have a brand new single coming out this summer that I can’t wait for you all to hear! Country music is my life. As well as being a pageant girl, I also play football! I play for Healing Hotspurs Ladies FC and it took me until I nearly entered my 30s to have courage to play football again. I now coach an U10s girls team and continue to support and promote women’s football. I work in a male dominated industry as well as play a male dominated sport - so I’m always trying to break the stereotypes of both pageant girls and football girls! I have a twin brother who lives in the USA and has previously represented Great Britain in the Olympics. He has lived in America over 12 years and introduced me to country music! (Fun fact - if I win Mrs Galaxy UK and compete in the internationals in Florida, Sam will have no other choice but to come watch haha). And finally, my family. This gorgeous fella in my photo is my husband, Chris. And the other 2 gorgeous fellas are my fur children Ted and Toby 🐈⬛🤍 For last years Galaxy Finals my husband surprised me by not only coming to watch… but bringing my Mum, my auntie, my mother-in-law and my father-in-law! 3 days to go (yesterday🤣) 💜 The pageant tip I live by is to remain authentic. As women in 2024, I don’t think it has ever been harder to remain true to ourselves. Thanks to Instagram, TikTok and other forms of social media, it has become so easy to compare ourselves to others, and when we do that we can begin to doubt ourselves, and our own worth. It can sound so cringey when people say things like ‘you’ve only got one life and you need to live it’ and ‘there is only one you in the world.’ It may sound cringe, but it’s so true. Yesterday my heart was so full! 😭❤️ Every Sunday from 3pm-4pm I host discipleship classes under @operationchristmaschild for children who want to learn more about Jesus and to learn how to tell others about him. This Sunday was different because no kids came in!! 🤣 But that didn’t stop the show! Pastor Williams was so gracious enough to take My sisters @christii.mariee, @_theonly.rayray and I on the park in his truck to teach the children about Jesus who were not able to come. I met the most amazing girls! Tamara, Lamara, Dwyesha and Stephanie! These girls are being raised right!! They knew who Jesus was and have already accepted him as their Lord and Savior, they knew who the Holy Spirit was so spent more time learning how to share the gospel with others. We have one more class next Sunday but my ministry won’t stop there! There are more children to reach and teach along the way! In all honesty I didn't think that some of the challenges I faced I would complete. But this one I definitely owe to @supwhales for all Sharon's help to get through the 10k SUP Charity Challenge around Norwich Riverside. There were moments where I was not sure I could finish it. Especially when a previous condition came back to haunt me at the half way mark. When you start to lose all feeling in your lower legs, having a mentor guide you through it mentally and physically is extraordinary.
