Hoje foi um dia chuvoso em Paris, peguei a linha de metrô errada e paramos em um local que não estava no roteiro. Foi tão legal e graças ao Google Maps foi sensacional. Um dos meus sonhos realizados foi ver de frente uma pintura de Van Gogh e Claude Monet. E bem ali no Musée d’Orsay encontrei as obras primas que mais amo dê ambos. W paryskim Musée d'O'rsay można właśnie obejrzeć wystawę francuskich impresjonistów. Tak, najsłynniejszych. Już sprawdzacie ceny biletów? Sprawdźcie, trzeba się spieszyć, bo wystawę można obejrzeć tylko (aż? Nie, nie wydaje mi się, że to "aż") do 14 lipca. Co ciekawe, kuratorzy wystawy wymyślili to tak, że zestawią nowo powstały właśnie we Francji impresjonizm z królującym dotychczas akademizmem (powszechnie wówczas panującym i nauczanym na akademiach sztuk pięknych nurtem, który wtedy już artystom wydawał się poprawny, akceptowany, ale na pewno nie nowy i odkrywczy. Kuratorzy zadecydowali tak dlatego, aby uświadomić nam, widzom współczesnym, dla których nic już w zasadzie nie jest nowe, jak odkrywczy, niezwykły i rewolucyjny był wówczas impresjonizm. Wrzucam Wam tu na razie pracę polskiego artysty Józefa Pankiewicza, który pojechał do Paryża, pracami tamtejszych impresjonistów się zachwycił i co? I postanowił zaszczepić ten nurt na gruncie polskim. Czy mu się to udało? Claude Monet, On the Boat, 1887, Oil on canvas, 146 x 134 cm, National Museum of Western Art, Tokyo. As probably the most important impressionist, Claude Monet produced works that are among the most popular paintings in art history. He is renowned for producing several series of the same subject including Poplars, Haystacks, Gare Saint-Lazare, the Cathedral of Rouen and the Houses of Parliament. He painted them under different circumstances regarding weather, season and a particular time of the day. His most famous and beloved series is without a doubt that of his lush garden and pond with waterlilies at Giverny. Most of his works are executed with short brush strokes and bold complementary colors. Monet is praised by critics and the public worldwide for his ability to paint the effects of sunlight and his skills as a colorist. Boating was a popular subject at the end of the 19th century to portray and people in a modern society. This work features Suzanne Germaine and Blanche Hoschedé, daughters of Monet’s second wife Alice in a Norwegian rowing boat on the river Epte. The painting radiates summer and relaxing. It also demonstrates Monet’s ability in contrasting the light pastel colors of the girl’s dresses with the dark green and blue colors of the water and the boat. Monet’s compositional choices such as a high vantage point, leaving out a horizon, cropping the boat on the right side and including strong diagonals indicate he probably was inspired by Japanese prints and photography which were both extremely popular and influential among painters. Je regarde ce tableau et je vois une jeune femme en rose, très élégante, qui se promène le long de la mer. . Je sens la simplicité et la légèreté du jour ensoleillé. . Si, on regarde bien, on peut remarquer la nostalgie et la réflexion dans l'attente et dans l'espoir de l'avenir. . Cette jeune femme est ici et loin en même temps. Les rêves sont toujours de couleur rose. . Ce toile a revécu un autre, celui de Monet "La Femme à l'ombrelle". Falaise, vers 1870, Antoine Vollon, Musée d’Orsay From Musee d Orsay website: The spontaneous technique, leaving visible the brushstrokes, is well present in the landscapes of the artist around 1870, as well as the use of dark tones and shadow effects. If we find in Vollon certain procedures dear to the Barbizon landscape painters (partial execution in the open air, presence of a small character to animate the scene - here a fisherman on foot -), the painter is also close, in the treatment he gives to the cloudy sky, to Eugène Boudin. Both artists painted in Trouville in 1870 before the Franco-Prussian conflict caused Vollon to leave for Brussels, where Boudin joined him shortly afterwards. The atmosphere of the scene is also reminiscent of Courbet’s Stormy Sea presented at the 1870 Salon. In this landscape with dramatic overtones, Vollon chose an original point of view situated on the shore facing the coastline and not the sea. The large dark masses of clouds reflected in the water, the localized impastos opposed to areas where the brushstrokes are very free, the effects of contrasts, the play on textures (rocks, clouds, seaweed on the shore ...) are all demonstrations of the virtuosity of the painter. This work joins the nine paintings by Vollon, mostly still lifes, already in the Musée d’Orsay.
