Mothers and Daughters wanted for a special Equine Massage class series! We have several mother/daughter combinations already registered for our upcoming April 28th Equine Massage class. We are hoping to get enough for us to start a special mother/daughter class series going by Mother's Day. It's always so exciting for us to work with and support the next generation of horse women. We find that students learn best when being able to partner up with another person to support each other in between classes. All students receive a digital 40 page workbook when signing up for their first class and we will continue working different sections from it over the coming months. We are covering a variety of different massage techniques over the course of the year and some will require having attended our intro classes in order to sign up. Mustangs Monday Review: While we feel that all horses deserve love and want to help as many as possible, sometimes a horse comes along that just tugs at our heart strings. Dancer, the newest resident to Mustangs To The Rescue has become the focus of our last two Mustangs Mondays. Dancer had life threatening health problems and it was touch and go for a while, but we are thrilled to see that she has turned the corner and showing remarkable improvement. In a recent New Volunteer Orientation that myself along with several Mustangs Monday regulars attended, Kate reminded us that the cost of a new horse entering Mustangs To The Rescue is typically around $1,000 in the first 30 because of all the help they need. Mustangs Monday Preview 2.5.24 Provided the weather holds we are planning on having a Mustangs Monday 2-4PM this coming Monday. A few weeks ago we had what we are calling Dog Day, since we had three attendees wanting information to help the dogs in their lives. Mustangs Mondays Herb Talk: With the extreme weather scheduled we aren't having Mustangs Mondays on Jan. 15th, but we wanted to make still make the Herb Talk information available. We have discussed in the past how we like to utilize Echinacea Purpurea Herb 3-4 days during the week as a preventive measure and Echinacea Purpurea Root for when horses are already showing signs of needing their immune systems boosted fast, such as with flu or extreme weather condition changes. Still feeding 3-4 on 3-4 days off. The recent sudden arrival of winter here over the last week and the coming extreme cold is the perfect example of how we do this. When heavy snow was expected we boosted for a couple of days with Echinacea Herb, making certain to rest three days before the extreme cold and snow that's expected to arrive on Friday. We will spend the next four days switching over to Echinacea Root, in fairly high doses to help the boys immune system deal with the extended extreme cold. Day 7 of the 12 Days of Chakras: Heart Chakra Like the Solar Plexus and Spleen Chakras the Heart Chakra is often thought of as a single chakra when there are two. Mustangs Monday Review Sleep Deprivation and Bodywork: Squirrel has started enjoying bodywork so much that she will stand and eat while having it done. This is a significant improvement from where we started with her. Squirrel seems to do best at this time with short 15 minute sessions multiple times per week. Squirrel is very clear about when her system has had all it can handle for a session and we are letting her guide us to what she needs to help her body heal. Mustangs Mondays Review Sleep Deprivation update: One of the things we have been doing with the MTTR horses participating in the Sleep Deprivation study is seeing how different essential oils affect them. We have established that Squirrel likes Mountain Rose Herbs' Sage and Lavender, but wasn't that interested in Frankincense.
