Hello our beautiful friends. I needed to take a break for a few weeks, but we are here and back. Davie has been glued to me, taking care of me with all his sweetness and love. He is my heart ❤️ And although he is the best boy ever, he has been very beastly with the other cats, while being so possessive over me. It's a very good thing that all the other cats are so patient and somehow understand him. We just got a 4.8 magnitude earthquake in NJ. It's been felt throughout NJ, NY, CT. (If I missed your state, I apologize) I hope you are all safe and okay. We are okay, all our cats are okay, except davie has been running around the house howling amd jumping and attacking the other cats. My son finally calmed him down and he's chilling out now. He is our most emotional cat and i know he picks up on my stress and anything off in the house or outside the house I also noticed that the birds and squirrels all took off when the earthquake happened. But so far, all looks good here. Davie is finally asleep!! It's been a tough couple of days between the time change and the intense wind we've been having. Davie has been running around the house howling and stirring up all sorts of badness with steve and hopper. The wind really got to him today and he would jump by the window and scream, as if he were yelling at the trees swaying back and forth. Does anyone else's cat do this? I know Davie is extremely sensitive, so I am sure that adds to his behavior. He spent a great deal of time today in my arms or cuddled up close to me. I am hoping for a peaceful night for both of us, I feel as exhausted as he is. Happy May🌷 I wanted to post this yesterday, (May 1st) but my youngest went back to school after almost 2 weeks (from being sick) and I was both emotionally and physically drained. For those of you who have been following us for a long time, you know that Davie has a love/hate relationship with the flowers behind him. I wanted to do a photo shoot with him and the flowers, but he kept going after them and there are not enough treats in the world for him to not get too close to the flowers and be good. So here is our May flowers photo💜 Which, given what I just went through with him, I think came out pretty good. Funny thing is that after I took this picture, he started purring and curled up in my lap and fell asleep. Good morning. Sorry for the break. I have been struggling with a sinus/upper respiratory infection for weeks now and it's been difficult to focus with the migraines that have come along with it all. I feel like I'm starting to crawl back into life, but it's exhausting both physically and emotionally. I just feel so run down. I was able to dress Davie up this morning. He's been glued to me and mostly either in my arms or lying next to me. When he's not in either place, he's acting out and running around the house howling and wrestling with the other cats. I thought I would make this post before midnight, but I fell asleep. Happy New Year! Here's to the year of the Rabbit, which symbolizes peace, prosperity and longevity. And to the Year of the Cat, which symbolizes intelligence, sensitivity and kindness. Since my boys were very young we started celebrating the Chinese New Year. It was my way of teaching them about different cultures. We would decorate, have an amazing meal of Chinese food and read and learn about the New Year. I'm happy that it's a tradition that we continue to celebrate. This year my oldest son took over the kitchen and made dinner. It was a great meal and a huge excitement for me to see him cook a dinner that we usually get as take out. I wanted to start my spring cleaning this weekend. I thought it would be a good time to start as we were getting our (hopefully) last snow storm of this winter, but it just didn't happen. You know that feeling when you walk into a room you have to clean and you freeze and then run from it? Yeah, that was me this weekend. The good thing is that I've been working on letting go and sitting with that feeling and knowing that it's okay. It's okay to walk away from housework. It's okay to move away from the emails and phone calls and texts. It's okay to say no and not look back. I've always been someone who crams so much in a day and by night, I'm exhausted and sad for not taking a break or simply doing something, no matter how small, that would bring me a bit of happiness and joy. It's all about balance, something I never knew how to do, but have begun to put my full focus on. Today Davie's wrapped himself up in one of my favorite flannel shirts. I do believe he most definitely wears it well!! Check on your elderly neighbors and all your neighbors and friends 🙂 Also, make sure your kitties, dogs, birds and all other pets are cool and have lots of water. Along with the birds and other wildlife. We have lots of deer, chipmunks, birds and squirrels who we always have fresh water for. Last year we spent so much time with our chipmunks that we were able to hand feed them. Davie and I are had a tough morning yesterday y. He didn't like his hat and you can see by all the cat hair on it, he pulled it off a bunch of times and haired it up. But I really love this photo of him because he's in deep thought, as I am sure we all are. It's not that easy staying calm or positive all the time. And honestly, we shouldn't be.
